I get confused about this episode. So if the old man Mr. doesn't really have a son and he is really a hit man. Why is he trying to find the guy he tells Maddie and David is his son when that guy is trying to kill him? Does he want to die and want that guy to kill him? Or did he intend to find the guy and try to kill him first? Or did he just want to find the guy and try to talk him into not being a hit man?
I just don't think I understand who and what is going on here. Can somebody explain it to me?

hi Lori
He wanted to find the guy because he wanted to convince him to take a different career path. He was dying himself, came to see the error of his ways in his life as a hitman and wanted the other guy to do the same. He hired David and Maddie to find the guy and pretended that he was his father because he knew that they wouldn't take the case if they knew their real occupation.
Hope that helps you to understand a bit better.

Okay. So this man thought if he lied to detectives and told them he wanted to find his son that he would have a better chance than if he told the truth. By not telling the truth didn't that make it even harder for detectives to help him find this person?
I think that Blue Moon got a lot of clients that lied to them about their cases. No wonder they had such a hard time trying to solve things and make money.

You're right. It also couldn't have been too encouraging that a lot of their clients turned out to be the murderer!
