Thanks for posting questions Rose! We had HS softball last night in 40 degree temps that dropped as the night went on. There is a reason I live in Texas and it's not to sit in the cold....which by the way we had a record breaking 12 inches of snow last week! Spring must get here quick. I don't know how you people stand the massive amounts of snow you have gotten!
But anyway.
1: Does this episode feel like a Moonlighting episode, why or why not?
I think it does. There is the set up for a case (only it's not a case, really) with the music and the chase with Whoopie. There's quick rapid fire banter between Maddie and David, not to mention the look of longing at the end and Agnes is great with her rhymes and the "There's a Hayes leak in the building Miss Gas" scene!
2: Do you feel this episode was written around or for its 2 guest stars: WHOOPIE (i just love her) and Judd Nelson.
Maybe a little. Whoopie was pretty popular back then, as well as Judd Nelson. Loved how they sort of broke the 4th wall with Camille asking if "The Color Purple" had been released on cable!
3: Do you have a fave scene? besides the last one
The one where David takes the blame for the missing money in the safe. Played great by Bruce and Cybill. And the rapid fire dialogue after the opening chase scene with Whoopie. I heard more in the lines this time as I tried to pick up each word more carefully. Very funny!

4:Fave lines?
"It'll keep till the fall" "If you thinks so." "Yeah...it'll keep till the fall." "Ooookaaayyy."
5: Being this was the last episode of season 2 do you think it was a good season ender?
Yes. It was fun and silly, but the missing money scene and the last scene in the parking lot shed another layer in the Maddie and David's relationship ever so slightly making the viewer drool for Season 3!

1: Does this episode feel like a Moonlighting episode, why or why not? 3: Do you have a fave scene? besides the last one 1. It definitely has the Moonlighting essentials. The rapid dialogue seemed speedier than ever. I suppose it had to be, considering this was a particularly fast-paced romp. The chase was over-the-top in its silliness, but fun anyway. It had the emotional, introspective moments. Most importantly, Agnes' rhyming was spot on! 3. I don't think the last scene is one of my favorites. My favorites are a)when they get out the welcome wagon for Camille. First Agnes shocks her with the rapido rhymin' (that look on Whoopi's face is priceless). Then, sounding completely sincere, Camille gives that speech about how being accepted into "The Few The Proud The Blue Moon" is better than the notoriety; b)a week after Camille has left, Maddie goes to David and asks if he's mad at her. The conversation that follows is very touching and sweet. By the way, I think Whoopi was terrific in this role. Steven Spielberg is a genius for many reasons, including discovering and casting her as Celie in The Color Purple.

4:Fave lines? 6: I think all will agree the last scene is AMAZING! Discuss it how ever you would like SIGH 4. The 2nd time Agnes is delivering the rhyme, she gets to the part "We're effective 'cause we listen, list--please, sir, lemme finish--listen to all you say, we'll hear your prob--sir, you're being very rude...I'm not through yet" which leads into the Ms. Gas/Hayes in the building part Also, the "Took the words right out of my mouth"/"Open up, I'll put 'em back" exchange 6. I'm sorry to say, I'm sad to report, that I haven't seen anything at all of that sort. I was disappointed, actually, that they had not much to say to each other. I'm probably going to end up feeling like that fumbled football again for saying this. I understand that the non-verbal cues were intended to speak volumes. It just seems to me that the end scene of the season finale should have made my heart sing, just like so many of their quiet moments did throughout the season. Those I can watch repeatedly and feel that every single time. Maybe when this one first aired my heart leapt out of my chest. Now I think it's a sweet scene, but wanting nonetheless.

Me too is sorry to say and sad to report... that I don't like this ep very much, and also I'm not too enthusiastic about the final scene. That was too much fourth wall for me. Also, the banter was not too sparkling this time... To me it didn't seem quite a "real" ML ep. Dunno, somehow this ep didn't get me. For a season finale I'd definitely have expected more. A few fav lines I got nevertheless: D: "I just had a thought." M: "How is that possible?" D: "We're not detectives, that's never stopped us!" M: "I'm serious, David." D: "I know. We're gonna get you something for this." M: "I stand corrected." D: "No, you stand terrific!" Entering the beauty salon, D: "I'm here for a manicure, she's here for a womancure." So far, so good. As my season 3 DVDs haven't arrived yet, I think I'll start season 1 and 2 over and over again. Tomorrow's the pilot, I think...

This is an interesting one- lots of people are not fans of this one are they?
So, I say in a quiet voice: 'I quite liked it - it made me laugh a lot and I'm quite a fan of Whoopi and Judd'
I present my case:
1- 'Here Comes the Bride'
'Devil with the Blue Dress' - classic tune to accompany the character of Camille as she cons her way through all those ol' guys on death's door. It's established immediately that she's unsavoury, unscrupulous and deadly to know. It was quite a treat to watch Whoopi and Judd - as the quality of acting from th support characters was obviously to a high standard and I enjoyed watching their scenes.
2-'The thought'
'I've just had a thought!' - I love the way this scene opened with him barging into her office with no knocking as he obviously had 'just had a thought' and it must have hurt! :-) A small observation about a big thing here: Maddie's hair in this scene was sooooo big it could have had its own show! Great fast paced scene to contrast with the slower exposition scene - favourite lines: 'You took the words right outa my mouth' - 'Open up, I'll put 'em back' - with the obligatory smirk as they pause to stare flirtatiously. Even the wobblies have a great moment here when they all chorus 'Yey' in support of David.
3-'The Pitch'
'The few, the proud, the blue moon...' - who didn't want one of those cards? - I bet it was printed on off-white/hint of texture ha ha:-)
David really tried to 'pitch' here - think he even impressed the boss lady who was feeling even more sorry for him as she believed Camille's answer would be a dead end no. 'We need you, we are the Bermuda Triangle of businesses' 'People only work for us because they're hiding'- rounded off with another 'We need you'. Oh Addison - your charm always attracts trouble. Mind you, I'd have chosen to work for you even without the pitch!
4-Later that Night
Have you noticed how often Doctor Ruth appears on this show? A Caronn motif - reminding us of the sexual chemistry even when our two are not melting the screen.
I read somewhere that the number on the Blue Moon business card that she decides to call so she can hide really rang on the props desk in The studio at ABC- someone rang it! Can't remember which article/book that was in though. Who didn't pause the vid to check it out at the time?
5- The Bermuda Triangle
Like the symbolic dirty footprint that she leaves behind when Camille steps out of the elevator - I'm a fly in the ointment, I don't belong here, I'll leave a dirty mark you'll have trouble getting rid of...
What can I say - Whoopi and Allyce in a scene together here - awesome! The two kookiest actors in Hollywood at the time - a great moment (maybe not as great as Sly, Bruce and Arnie in that 5 minute scene in 'The Expendables') but pretty cool. Another moment for the wobblies too- they looked like they were really enjoying themselves this week ha ha! Hey that picture in reception- I think someone on here said it was a collection of umbrellas - when I was a kid I thought it was hot air balloons - ?! Anyway, I digress - but I also think this ep was a props special - like a homage to the props department, trying to make us more aware that it's a set to prepare us for the later 4th wall breaking, either that or they'd designed lots over the season that they hadn't used yet and said 'we gotta fit 'em all into Camille', or it was like a bet or something. To prove my point - there's like a zillion business cards, plaques, xerox print outs - and all that stuff Judd picks up in David's office and examines! I rest my case.
Love that line 'The orifice of the future' - when David introduces Camille to her new office - his office! Nooooooooo. Clear out a broom closet or something - you can't give that reptile David's play room!
The welcome pic Agnes hands to her is so funny - and with all those signatures that's got to be a collectors piece now. I wonder who has that- Diane? lol.
This whole scene makes the Blue Moon staff seem so sweet, vulnerable and warm - and she's just going rain down a 'flies on you' storm over their heads. Nasty lady.
6-'Can I See you in my Office Please?'
This opening shot is a great Dave moment- supposedly reading 'Making Middle Management Matter' Between A Rock and a Hard Place (do you think this inspired them in season 5?)- but concealing a porn mag inside and calling it 'A Journal of Human Sexual Behaviour' - was worth a giggle or two. ' Craving Suc-cess'!- naughty David. Also I thought David hated it when Maddie talked backwards - here he is 'Say I would', 'Not we did,'- caught you Mr Addison, now give me 10 laps around the office! Now here comes another prop - that xerox print out: Maddie-David-Camille - just made me lmao. That was such a funny visual! And David's reply is priceless 'This is a lot of information to process at one time' :-) 'I stand corrected', 'No, you stand terrific.'
7-'Can I see You in my Office?- AGAIN'
Enter Maddie in sunshine yellow outfit at 4pm 'Coming in at 4 O'Clock, I want your job!'
I also liked this scene when Maddie and Camille circle each other like animals about to pounce, sniffing each other out, weighing each other up: 'See a synchronised swim team couldn't have done it any better.' You gotta love 'The Hayes Leak' part of this too- such a great Agnes moment and Maddie's reaction is spot on- as usual; followed by th mass exodus that crashes into David coming out of the elevator. Can't help thinking they missed a great one-liner here. Maddie immediately insinuates that it's probably a David prank and his come back is pretty funny 'I'm offended, it's not even 6th Period'. I don't like how they get 'rode' in this scene though - they both feel so violated, especially David as it was his idea and Maddie was right again- so sweet when he admits he's mad at himself. He should have walked her to the garage though- it might have sparked some memories! ;-)
8-'The Big Finale'
Now then - is the woman getting her hair done in the salon, the same one whose head explodes in 'Total Recall'? Just a thought.
Well it all gets deliciously silly from here on out: ladies shouting from under their dryers, them running off the set 'we still got 2 more pages to shoot on this set!', running out of stage 14 and into the buggy, crazy costume changes, the Laurel and Hardy style speeding up of the camera and a great tour of the ABC studio lotts. I actually like how much they broke the 4th wall here - they usually only hinted at it in a subtle way which, as we know, is why it worked but why not fully embrace it now and again? It's like having one too many chocolate bars! I liked the way Judd Nelson and Whoopi Goldberg look so lost and confused and when they shout 'Ms Goldberg, Mr Nelson - your limos are waiting!' - like Glenn was poking fun in a friendly way at their star status on his show. What's weird is that they're referred to by their real names - and when Maddie and David walk off the set, stepping through the Blue Moon door prop, knocking the fake walls, we think they're now Bruce and Cybill - and then they call each other Maddie and David! It really blurs the divide - and I did like that.
I also thought it ended just right - the 'So?' 'So' 'Well' 'Well?' - we all know they were talking about a big, chemistry fueled kiss right? So when they tease us and then say 'next season' - it's what these two do best- keep us waiting, and waiting and waiting :-) And also we're not sure if they're Bruce and Cybill, or Maddie and David sooooooooo... :-) And it's not like they disappoint as 'I am Curious...' is next season ;-)
That's all I got! :-)

"(maybe not as great as Sly, Bruce and Arnie in that 5 minute scene in 'The Expendables')"
I watched that 2 days ago - wasn't that the greatest scene of the entire film?!

So, I say in a quiet voice: 'I quite liked it - it made me laugh a lot and I'm quite a fan of Whoopi and Judd' I present my case: You can say it aloud, and, take it from a shyster like me: you present your case very well! It was funny, and I liked the music, esp the Devil, very much. I think, for me the main reason for not favoring this ep too much is that it has too little D/M interaction. Luckily, we all have different tastes (otherwise our posts and lists would be boring!).

One of my least favorite episodes. Sorry. Mine too, missingmymoonlight. I guess it is the final scene that makes me sad and mad. I can't believe they just walked away like that...no kiss, no hug... *sigh* But Whoopie is amazing, and the chase scene is funny

Not in my top 10, but I love how a quality of David is revealed...his willingness to take the blame for missing money in the office safe to help Camille. I suppose he chose to see the good in her. And then we see something in Maddie...she didnt believe he took the money....she chose to see the good in him.
And the ending...still leaves me full of hope...Back then, I couldn't wait for the fall!
