Hey all! Sorry this is late. Doesn't seem like alot of our ML family has been around lately. Where is everyone? Well i do know life can get hectic. I had my inlaws visiting all weekend and i havent had time to rewatch this one yet. But i will open it up for anyone who has and is around. I'll post a couple of basic questions. Please anyone feel free to add. I need to get my sleepy kids to bed soon LOL
1: Do you have a fave scene of this episode?
2: Do you any Fave lines in this episode?
3: DO you think Dave and Bert have got the chemistry thing going on?
4:What did you think of the letter at the end?

Thanks for getting the the thread going Rose! 1: Do you have a fave scene of this episode?Maddie with her father late at night where he tries to get her to tell him her troubles. The scene on the front porch of the Wilbournes where David tells Bert how lucky he is to have a woman waiting for him at home. The letter writing scene....poor David wanting to tell Maddie how he really feels, but doesn't want to scare her away any longer. 2: Do you any Fave lines in this episode? "Beepers? The circus clown?" The look on Bruce's face is funny! ;D And “Seems like everywhere you look these days someone’s leaving someone else.” Bert 3: DO you think Dave and Bert have got the chemistry thing going on? I think this is Bert at his best trying to be a good employee as well as a good friend. He doesn't back down from David and pretty much he is the one that makes David admit, albeit to himself, that he needs Maddie to come home. 4:What did you think of the letter at the end? A great way to make it feel as if Cybill and Bruce are in a scene together under the circumstances of the times. However, I really, really wish Maddie had written him back.

Here are a few questions I came up with.
1. How many ways can we see the mirror image of David and Maddie's relationship as it stands in this episode?
2. Although Maddie's mother doesn't say much other than to defend Maddie's behavior, Alex and Virginia seem to view Maddie's troubles in two different ways. What do you feel are these two different points of view?
3. Trivia: Terry O' Quinn (Bryant Wilbourne) can be seen in what popular show today?
Amanda Plummer (Jackie Wilbourne) works with Bruce Willis again, although they never play a scene together, in what movie?

It is one of those episodes, that make me feel so sad I really don't like Maddie and David being apart... But on the other hand, this episode is one of the most emotional episodes of the show... 1: Do you have a fave scene of this episode?Well, I really impressed by the scene at the airport, where David runs to the phone, thinking that it is Maddie who is calling... The scene is so dramatic! Poor David, when he realizes that it is Agnes, and not Maddie on the phone... Thousand emotions can be read on his face... His pain is obvious.. And of course, the scene with the letter! A great one! David has promised not ot call, not to come, and he writes her a letter, just to let her know, that he still cares about her... so cute! And so sad at the same time! Why didn't she call back at least? 4:What did you think of the letter at the end?For me this letter is a perfect proof of how much he loves her and needs her and how badly he missses her. It is kind of a declaration from him. And she did understand this, if to judge from the expression of her face, as she was reading the last line. I just can't understand: why didn't she come back after this letter?

Thanks for the questions, rose and bees...noggin scratchers, all! 1. Favorite scene: Well, the letter, obviously...and Alex and Maddie by the fire. They are so natural, so entirely believable as father and daughter. Just great! I also love Bert coming in with the beepers, when he says to Agnes, "You'll never have to leave a warm bed again..." ;D 2. Favorite lines: Definitely "This is all a bunch of crap. I'm miserable, and I want you to come home." Oh, and "Seems like everywhere you look..."--Bert calls 'em like he sees 'em. His honesty cuts right through David's attempt to maintain a cool facade.

3. David & Bert: Well, nothing can match the bantering, fizzing chemistry between David and his Blondie Blonde, but the producers of the show must have been thanking their lucky stars this fourth season that they had Curtis Armstrong on board, because he really is a wonderful foil for David. For all his bluster, and the overeager puppy-ness he brings to his nascent detecting career ("I've cracked this case so wide-open..."), his passion and integrity shine through. And he's a great friend to David in his hour of need.

4. The letter: Makes me tear up a little, every time. Agree with bees and goldilocks that it was a great way to capture the feeling of them being together again. However, I have to think that Maddie would have called him afterward--or better yet, written a letter of her own...her heart's not frozen, after all, just confused.

Now on to bees' questions:
3. Trivia: Terry O' Quinn (Bryant Wilbourne) can be seen in what popular show today?
I'm thinking he plays Locke on Lost, yes?
As for the Amanda Plummer/BW film...not sure. I can only remember seeing Ms. Plummer in So I Married an Axe Murderer with Mike Myers.

1. How many ways can we see the mirror image of David and Maddie's relationship as it stands in this episode?
Great question, bees! Initially in the episode, Jackie and Craig's relationship looks like a reflection of David and Maddie's: Jackie's there, she's ready to commit, and (as far as we know at this point) Craig takes off. The analogy unravels, though, when we discover Jackie's crazy plan... Then we have MacGillicudy, poor guy, whose wife has left him for reasons unknown. Maybe she went to a foreign country to hide under a bed? Finally, there's Bert & Agnes, of course, who are the opposite, really, of David and Maddie at this point. They're clearly together together, if you know what I mean--committed to each other, and happy. So, so sad that our dynamic duo couldn't take a page out of their book!
