Did anyone happen to catch the premiere of "Hellcats" on the CW this evening? I have to, my bro's involved, but I actually thought it was pretty good. Interesting that Allan Arkush would take on a series about college students later in life, while he directed eps of ML in his younger years. Maybe he's the next Aaron Spelling.

Has anyone caught this show yet? It just got picked up for the back 9. I don't know if it's coincidence or because Allan Arkush is at the helm, but I've noticed a couple of similarities with Moonlighting: it has so much heart, and despite its surrounding premise (college cheerleading) it is first and foremost a character-driven, relationship-oriented show. Wednesdays @ 9/8 Central on The CW.

I know I keep replying to my own posts, but I wanted to share something with y'all. My brother's net, The CW, just presented their fall schedule to the advertisers yesterday at the "Up-Fronts" in New York. "Hellcats" did not get picked up for a 2nd season , which means Allan and Neil Mandelberg will be looking for replacement gigs. Turns out it was my bro's decision to hire Allan, and he proved that decision right over and over again. He's a hip guy too! I just thought this was a special kudos I could pass along for the man who inspired us all nearly 25 years ago, directing "Maddie's Turn to Cry" and OF COURSE, "I Am Curious . . . Maddie"

That is so cool! I'd be hitting my brother up for an autographed script or two!
