1987, those are really lovely. Every new list I read, I find more scenes I can't believe I left off my list.
I have decided I have two crazy obsessions......scenes in, on, against, around, inside and outside doors...... AND tuxedos -- I almost added David catching the champagne cork in "Money Talks" to my list. What an amazing Cary Grantish moment.
Waiting with bated breath for your last few......these will be hard to outdo!

7. Father Knows Last - Do you have any idea how I feel about your daughter?: A favorite scene from a favorite episode. I won't add much because others have covered it so well. In the most impassioned and heartfelt we've ever seen David, he tells her daddy how much he loves her. Man to Man. It's not a Maddie-less scene at all. She is very present in the hearts of these 2 men who love her unconditionally.
I will sheepishly admit that in my recent travels, in and out of airplanes, I gazed at the Fasten Seatbelt sign and drifted away to Bruce Willis' finest acting moment ever.

8. Sam & Dave - Sorry to interrupt your dinner....: This was the episode hardest to leave off my Top 6. I just couldn't go All The Way with it though because of the last scene. I still watch the dinner scene and think there could be a different outcome: He could tell her how he feels, his card could work, he actually went to an Ivy League School too!! There is a thunderstorm of emotions we all go through in these minutes: we are humored, nervous, sad, excited, etc. I crawl further and further into my turtle shell as the evening progresses and pop my head all the way in at the "I'm terribly sorry Mr. Addison, but your card was refused." I, however find it funny enough to quote this one frequently too - usually when I have had too much wine at dinner (ironic, I know).
From funny ("Got any Black Sabbath?") to heartbreaking ("I plan on going back someday and finishing up.") this scene couldn't be more perfect. Three terrific performances. You think Maddie or Sam will be the characters exposed here but with the help of some wine, its David who is.

9. After Twas' the Episode Before Christmas: This was magical. Still is today. In the mid 80s it was rare to see a glimpse behind the scenes of a TV show. And to show us the entire staff, not just the actors, was very special. Breaking the 4th wall here to tell us Merry Christmas was just brilliant. I have to wonder if Glenn knew just how special this would be. I watch this scene and see joy and gratitude and relief on everyone's faces. They have brought a successful year to a close and their creation has exceeded everyone's expectations. Bruce and Cybill are thankful - for a first chance and for a second chance. Just writing about this scene gives me goosebumps. No matter what's ahead, this was a happy time for them and we got to see it. Something like this won't ever be seen again on primetime - because at least one group and who knows how many others would probably cause an uproar at the use of a song about Jesus' birth on primetime. That is unfortunate because there was no agenda here. Just a creator who wanted to give the loyal fans a little present. This scene and it's timing represents a more innocent, less complicated time in my life that I will forever long for again.

10. I Am Curious....still after all these years. How can this not be my favorite scene? How more perfect can it get? How can I say anything about it that hasn't already been said? I can't.
This scene and the end of the triangle was perfectly constructed and obviously had been in the mind of Glenn for a while. The twist, the fight, the slaps, the song. Anytime I hear those 1st 3 drum beats in the wall of sound I get bashful, gushy, and sappy. This scene makes me nothing but happy. I can vividly remember riding to school the Wednesday morning of April 1st, 1987 hearing the morning DJs talk about it. I remember it being discussed on one of the morning shows. I remember Dirty Dancing coming out later that year and me being very offended that they 'stole' our song!
I'm just glad we all have this scene - because most of the time, we weren't given what we wanted. But we were here. Today, this scene is still very important in pop culture. It's the scene that set the "Before they slept together" vs. "After they slept together" discussions. And here is where I could begin my "Moonlighting curse" mantra. But I won't because this story and this scene deserves better than to be associated with a "curse".

And an Honorable Mention that is really more of a Moonlighting Moment rather than a scene:
To Heiress Human: David singing 'Double Shot of My Baby's Love' after his first, wonderful night with Maddie. I howl with laughter at the adorableness of him. The terrible singing (sorry, guys), the keyboard playing on Agnes' desk, the "YEAH, YEAHs", the image of Maddie in the doorway trying so hard to look irritated but finding it hard because she's so satisfied......
This little scene almost made the cut. One of my favorite moments of the entire series.
"What's up Boys?" "Take 2, they're small." ;D

read the rest of your picks during my long meeting, and it cheered me up!! I love especially the fact that you chose also "light" scenes like the Next Stop Murder scene. And I love your personal desciptions a lot.

It was such a pleasure to read your lists girls! Lin, I love your picks very much, at least 3 of them are on my list too I like how you insert dialogues into your descriptions. Those are great great lines! They make your descriptions so vivid and very emotional! Loved especially how you described the dance scene from 'The Son Also Rises'! What an amazing scene! 'When I watch Maddie and David together like this, they really seem like a couple. They are comfortable in each other's arms and I can't help but think that this is how is should be.'So true, they both look so beautiful, so loving and so happy when they are in each others's arms..... 1987,You've chosen amazing scenes, each of them is so special in its way! It is a pleasure to read your comments on the scenes: they are so genuine, and very emotional! This one is my fave: ' Why such love for this scene? In my opinion, this is the pinnacle of Bruce and Cybill comedy. Today when I watch Bruce and Cybill act I long for wild, energetic, frenetic performances from them. I long to see Cybill go maniacal again. I watch her today on the edge of my seat hoping she will be written to unleash into a rant - yelling and shrieking so beautifully again. And for 20+ years I have watched Bruce for a glimpse of the zany, goofy, charm he brought to David Addison. I do love him so but I admittedly get frustrated with the calm, controlled, tough guy demeanor.'I couldn't agree more! I love Bruce and I adore Cybill, and both of them are great actors and have many great roles, but I miss their 'David' and ' Maddie', want them back.. Great scenes, great lists ladies! Thank you!

It has been extremely exciting for me to read all these lists and know I'm part of a ML project. I'm looking forward to the rest and I hope I can cut my list down to 10 here in a few days! Naturally, this is hard to do. Really hard...All the lists thus far have been so enjoyable I just hope when it's my turn, it has the heart that yours do. Great, great ladies.

Nice job lin212 and 1987! I don't feel guilty now since you two put the bar scene from the pilot and the automatic bed scene on the train in " Next Srop Murder". I debated long and hard on those exact scenes! 1987, I like a good laugh as well! That train scene is really funny, isn't it? Lin212...off the subject...but, are you an Orioles fan by chance?

Wow to Lin and 1987 - highly enjoyable reads both. I really enjoyed the balance between comedy/drama/romance in these latest picks! So glad that someone chose the bed in the wall scene too- this, to me, is absolutely hilarious! I agree - it always cracks me up and remains one of their funniest scenes together. I think that I quote lines from this scene more than any other. Their chemitsry rang through it all - like a third star of the show. Thanks for your entries girls- great bedtime reading xx

'87, that was a killer list! So many thoughts and feelings about it. I especially love that you included I Am Curious... David. That scene gets me every time. So much being withheld here, it looks like they're going to finally explode, but of course they don't. Not yet, anyway. David makes me crazy with that missed opportunity, and Maddie, well... she just destroys me. Her need is palpable, and for all intents and purposes, she has laid her cards on the table. Her unrequited vulnerability is painful.
Anyway, so much great stuff on the list, I'll leave it at that, lest I start another list of my own. Well done!
