I thought we could just let our imaginations run a little wild on here- or as David would object 'Me? I'd never let my imagination run away with me, not without a good dinner in it!' It just seems a little quiet around here at the mo and I thought it might be cool to put a little light thread on here for us to have some fun with. Sooo, I'll kick off shall I? Right - well I love Cybill Shepherd's idea of having the older them arguing about arguments that their thirty-something selves had - cute idea. I'd also like to see a scene where Agnes Dipseto transforms eighties Blue Moon office kicking and screaming into 2012... Hmmm, I'd also like to see lots of scenes where M and D pretend that they both moved on but are actually totally crazy about each other still...would need a big ol' romantic last scene. I would definitely like to see the Anselmo case solved! I would need to see a classic elevator shot with new improved pumps :-) Oh and it would have to have a dreamsequence somewhere - maybe something ageless - a homage to the black n white comedy shows that were the basis for ML itself! A proper Harold Hawkes DS :-) That's me for now but I'll surely be back on with more... Meanwhile...don't leave a little BMS all on her lonesome here...jump on! Would love to hear what you guys would want to see... xxx

Oh my goodness! What a great-great thread, Nancy! It is such a good idea, because not only it gives us a possibility to share our dreams, but it is also possible that Mr Caron will read these ideas one day and maybe, just maybe he'll use them Okay, now...what would I like to see in that Moonlighting Reunion Movie? I've got a list ;D: - Maddie slamming those doors (of course : - David singing those songs - chase scenes - dream sequences Plus my greatest dream is to see Hayes/Addison residence full of kids. So that we know that all those years after LE they spent together! And yes, kisses too

Thanks for the positive reception for the thread! Just jump on whenever you have an idea :-) I'm sure I'll be back on a fair few times. Love your special ingredients Goldie and can't wait to hear yours finefinegoodgood!
I'll add a couple more:
- they'd so have to still have a BMW! - even though it would be set in 2012ish - I'd still want classic tunage - A cold-opening (I think that's what it's called)

Everyones ideas are great!!! I would want to see all those things for sure!!! My ideas: 1. An opening scene much like the one to the opening of the pilot. Only this time the walls of Maddies bedroom is not covered with pictures of herself, but family pictures... 2. I always thought a good reunion would happen to celebrate something...a special anniversary maybe. It could be a great way to end the movie...Maddie and David have been arguing the entire time, but not sure over what...we find out at the end Maddie thought David forgot their anniversary, when really he was planning a surprise party for it...and has made plans for their kids to come back home to surprise her for it. And that could be our romantic ending...we find out that they have been married and had a family. 3. Blue Moon bigger and better than ever....2012 style...and yes...that darn Anselmo case...maybe that could be the case...the fbi finally has the Anselmos nailed to the wall and they need Blue Moon to testify. 4. Elevator scene (like you said BMS...with updated shoes )and doorway scenes for sure!!! They are always the best. And lets not forget that spiral staircase...must see that. 5. Music - got to stick to the classics - however it would be fun to see David rockin it out to todays tunes. 6. Fights, making up, door slams, yelling, etc. etc. etc. all the things that make Moonlighting...Moonlighting. 7. Flashbacks...a must have. (I think snap said one time about the scene where Maddie says about can you see David in 30 years saying do bees be??? That would be a good one. ) 8. Hair jokes...or lack of hair jokes as the case may be. Thats all I got for now...but I am sure I will think of more. Great idea Nancy!!! Love this thread.

We ML fans never stop dreaming of a ML reunion no? Its alwasy in our heads that are full of daydreams where some keep it too ourselves where others open up in form of mazng fan fcis! Well the ideas listed so far sounds great! -I so agree with the BMW! If in present day i think they could get a newer model BMW though to keep with the times ,i've also thought of a bigger BMW for those times they spend in the car getting romantic while working too would be nice HEHE -I love the idea of finding out they have kids meaning they been together al all these years after the show ended & that they got back together fairly soon after. -I dont believe they could ever stay apart though for 20+ years then find each other & decide to get back together i believe their love & passion for each other is so strong they could not survive all those years alone. I so agree with you on this one Rose. I could not stand to think that they have not been together all this time. That would just be too sad. I like to think that they got back together as soon as the show ended and had themselves a good time making a nice little family. ;D

Oh this is exciting already...I think I've read too much 'Love in the Time of Cholera' and other love-classics lol- I find the most romantic endings are ones where people have had to wait :-) I see them trying to go on with their lives but not finding happiness - I see him becoming stuck in the ol' Addison routine rut and her with a string of failed NSM's - then they meet (and let's face it we could knock a few years off their real ages as this is Hollywood! lol) - and although they fight it M and D style - they end up realising that they are who they've been searching for all this time. Oh my gosh - I'm gonna need my own box of Kleenex - welling up over here lol. I'm probably alone in this theory but I thought I'd throw it out there anyway. Our favourite characters are complex and I just can't see them going a traditional route :-) - I mean they're so stubborn they'd give Booth and Brennan a run for their money. I love all the discussion already!
Oh and ffgg - get out of my head! I could so visualise that wall thing going on - echoing the pilot. Maybe it could start at the end - and the pics start off all her but David starts creeping into some of them...and the film then shows us how they got there. Sigh. :-)
Keep those ideas comin' folks...no need to be shy, show a little confidence, a little Dale Carnegie! xxx

I'm still very undecided and ambivalent here, I must admit...
I love Nancy's idea of both having gone astray looking for their happiness but of course not having been able to find it without each other, and then finding eacht other again. I could live with them being apart for a certain amount of time.
But I also agree with ffgg - it would make me very sad if they hadn't had the opportunity to have a family... hmm, difficult.

I've laid off this topic a little because as many of you know, I am not a fan of the reunion movie idea.
But this has come from years of soul searching. Originally, I thought I wanted a reunion. I actually wrote a fanfiction scenario.......my first foray into fanfiction......not always pretty, but I have to own it, I guess.
As time went by, and I pondered and thought...and watched some of the reunion movies that were made, I became more convinced that a reunion was not something I could get behind. So much time has gone by that I feared that the only way anyone would do one is to recast the leads, and try and slip Bruce and Cybill in with clever little cameos. To me, there could be no other David and Maddie...case closed. And I could never conceive of a 60ish M&D doing chase scenes and climbing buildings that would attract the kind of financial support that would promise the kind of $$$ success that Hollywood requires.
There are some great ideas here....I especially like some of Kim's.... but I am just afraid that ship has sailed. I would love to see Bruce and Cybill do some kind.....any kind of work together. That is what I continue to hope for.
I guess another reason why I don't need a reunion is that, for me, they never were (or are) apart. I got to be part of creating "Virtual Moonlighting" which, for me, is my alternate Moonlighting reality. In my own head, ML has gone on for nine years, and seriously, it is hard for me to remember when the show ended and VM started. Sometimes, when I am searching for a ML quote, or a storyline, I have to stop myself and check whether the situation was part of the original show or VM.
Please don't misconstrue........I am in no way comparing anything to the pure genius that is Moonlighting....I guess I am trying to explain how VM became my "reunion" and my consolation.
And forgive me if it seems that I am looking for publicity, or bragging about Virtual......truly, that is not my purpose. I just know that some people have questioned how I can be a ML devotee and NOT want a reunion. Hope this helps with the explanation.
I am definitely enjoying some of your ideas though.......and love that you are all having fun with this. And if any of this comes to fruition, I'll be standing in line......and hopefully, we will all be in one place together.....to see this show!

Interesting comments Diane- glad you explained your thoughts too...I guess VM became my reunion too. When I first discovered it I was like oh wow - someone carried the series on - why'd it take me so many years to find this lol!
However, with regard to their ages now... can I swear at Hollywood? LOL. I think it would be awesome to have fifty and sixty somethings running around doing chase scenes - I hate the way the Media depict age and control how we are supposed to think feel/what we've supposed to have achieved at different ages in our lives blah blah blah. They have a lot to answer for! My mum is in her seventies and is so young at heart...although her age group is often depicted as at death's door in the movies...! I'd want to see a movie with mostly them as they are now and a few flash backs to original series. If Bruce can do a Die-Hard 5 then he can do a silly chase scene haha ;-)
I guess the main issue would be this what happened in the 22 years gap that we've been discussing huh? Like I said before, I'm a fan of my romance served with a side-order of tragedy. Its never too late! Although a lot of peeps have expressed a preference that they've always been together- how could they not?... but if we consider the last show's message that when they cease to be TV characters, they cease to be...then maybe a reunion might have to be a kind of cold-wake up. Like they're stuck in time on the steps...until they're brought to life again? I dunno - just another thought. Maybe they could fight it out how they think their lives would have gone if they hadn't been cancelled: cue funny arguments, flashbacks- conflicting ideas between them. It's only near the end that they realise that they've got the end of this movie to put things straight for real and give us our happy ending.
Oh and Diane? Like you said, wouldn't it just be the best if we all got to go to that premier- together? *dreaming* haha.
Feeling creative today... would be interested to hear others thoughts on the 22 year gap too- the more the merrier. :-) ;D

Great points, Nancy.....and I totally agree about Hollywood. Since I myself fall right in the middle of Bruce and Cybill, I certainly think they are still very sexy and vibrant people......I'd sure pay to watch them......along with people like Kevin Costner, Harrison Ford, Susan Sarandon, Kathleen Turner. But it seems all they are being offered is the Grandma/Grandpa roles ....and not the sexy ones! (Except for Helen Mirren......she's getting the offers for nude scenes at her age!)
I like your idea about being frozen in time......that could make for an interesting scenario.....
Keep up with the great suggestions, all. I've never said I am beyond being convinced by clever and creative!

Can I throw in Agnes and Bert: anyone got any ideas on what kind of role they should play in a reunion movie? I can just see Agnes re-opening Blue Moon - dusting off the cob-webs etc, polishing the Blue Moon door - getting Magillicuddy back out of tv storage hehe xxx
