In spite of the loneliness shown a few episodes later in "The Next Murder You Hear", Maddie has no problem being wined and dined throughout six of the first seven episodes. Consider her table-mates: (1) the plastic surgeon, (2) Farley Wrye, (3) Preston Holt, (4) Paul McCain, (5) Missed date for which she was very dressed up in "Next Stop Murder", and (7) Richard Addison.
That's as far as I've made it so far, and we obviously know that the only man meant for Maddie is David (who happily involves himself at various levels with most of the dates mentioned above), but I still thought it was interesting, if not surprising.

This is interesting. I guess I've always seen Maddie as someone who can always get attention, as she's a very attractive woman although often from men she doesn't find attractive. However most of the men she dates are pretty uninspiring. I remember a season 3 episode with Maddie in a bar, always fending off men as if she's used to it. She doesn't seem to ever be in any serious relationship though, or even dating seriously? She spends a lot of time at home on her own or chasing around town with David. She honestly seems quite lonesome at times.
