I take back my comment about “Cybil” not being entertaining. After watching more episodes, I have come to appreciate it. CS IS A GREAT ACTRESS.
Also, just saw episode where Charlie Rocket appears as a director with the last name Addison. You know that was no coincidence.
He looked great but had no chemistry with CS. You don’t realize how strong the chemistry was between her and BW until you see her opposite another male actor. No contest.

I agree, quest, the chemistry between Cybill and Bruce was AMAZING, it was off the charts! I've seen just about everything Cybill's ever done, and I've been watching a lot of Bruce's movies lately, and they just don't have chemistry with anybody else like they had with each other. I can only imagine how hot that make out session was that they had off-camera on that la-z-boy chair.

Quest, glad you have grown to appreciate the Cybill show. She can be really funny. Even my husband, who usually doesn't like sitcoms like that, laughed quite a bit at that show. I loved seeing her with Charlie Rocket again. Even though they didn't have the same chemistry as her and Bruce it was nice to see them together again. And those episodes also had her daughter in them. In Cybill's book she said she invited Bruce to be on the show twice and he couldn't or wouldn't do it. I think that's sad. Maybe it was too soon after Moonlighting. Did you see the episode that was a take off on Moonlighting and the Xfiles? Marlena, their chemistry really was amazing. But I guess it wasn't enough for them to get together. I wonder what it was like for them to see each other again when they did the interviews for the DVD's? Were they still attracted to each other at that point in their lives? I don't think either of them was in a serious relationship then. I've seen interviews with Cybill in the past 5 years and she still says she finds him attractive. I don't know if he feels the same way though. It's kind of sad. But then I guess it really isn't any of my business to make assumptions about their private relationship. Except that if they don't like each other or don't have that chemistry anymore then a reunion will most likely never happen.

The way Cybill described the encounter in the book, it sounded like she and BW just stopped short of doing the deed.
She described it as hot and heavy (paraphrasing).
Also, it was Bruce who put the brakes on.
In future interviews, she said they both agreed not to sleep together. However, I’m wondering if she only agreed after BW said it wouldn’t be a good idea. If that was the case, she may have felt rejected.
Can you imagine how uncomfortable it must’ve been for the two of them, especially her if she had been willing to go forward, when they had to work together the next time?
I also wonder what happened to all that pent-up passion that never was released. Did they just long for one another like Maddie and David and never do anything about it? Did one of them lose interest? I doubt fans will ever get an answer to these questions.
I wish the two of them woukd have given in to their desire, At least after Maddie and David did. They might actually have had a fulfilling relationship. Now we will never know and neither will they.
There’s a song that fits the situation perfectly. I think it’s called “What Might Have Been”. I’m going to have to Google it to find out who the artist is.
I just miss the two of them. No matter their age, they need to do something on screen together.

Just saw "The Story of Us" with BW and Michelle Pfeiffer last night. I thought the movie was good and that BW's performance was solid. MP did a good job with her role, too, but I could not help but imagine how much better the movie would have been with CS playing BW's wife.
The story could have been showing Maddie and David's life 10 years after getting married and having children together. It was definitely a bumpy ride and I have no doubt M & D would have had some difficulties due to their strong personalities. Yet it ended with the two still loving one another and giving the marriage another try.
As far as BW's appearance in the movie, I was surprised he had aged so much. Yes, the movie was released 10 years after Moonlighting ended, but CS looked great in Cybil, which was roughly the same time period as this movie. BW's hairline had receded even more and he had deep lines on his face. Yet, he was only about 45. Perhaps too much partying. There were times, though, that David Addison came through, his mannerisms, the way BW read a line. That made me miss that character even more.
It is too bad that CS and BW had that feud and it lasted so long. I would bet CS would have been offered the role of the wife in this movie if it hadn't been for that.

I wonder if Bruce just didn't want to work with her again? Was the feud really that bad?

I wish they never had that damned feud. She would have been perfect in this movie.
The relationship between the husband and wife was very volatile just like Maddie and David's was. Also, I did find some similarities between Ben (BW character) and David. The wife was the responsible one. He never filled the windshield washer fluid or disciplined the children. I could have seen that happening with David and Maddie.
Off topic of this movie, I just saw the terrible reviews that BW got for his latest with Meghan Fox. He looks very overweight and from what I read, his performance was awful.
What is going on with him?

If you look at IMDB he's done over 10 movies in the past 2 years. That seems excessive and he can't be doing a really good job with all of them. Is he just working to make as much money as possible or does he really like working that much? But since I haven't seen any of them, I can't really say if his recent performances are good or not. If his recent performances haven't been very good, then maybe he shouldn't do a Moonlighting reunion show. Maybe it would turn out really bad.

Actors want to work. He's certainly at the point of his career when he doesn't have to if he doesn't want to. But he's also at an age where it's probably hard to turn down roles, because how much longer will people be offering them? I'm not in any way comparing Bruce to DeNiro, but DeNiro took a bunch of roles in really bad films for a few years. I imagine the pressure is so great to constantly be on the screen that it's hard to say no.

From what I’ve read, he is getting 1 million and more for one days work and having his photo on the billboard.
Perhaps he is just raking in as much cash as possible before retiring.
It really makes me sad because he was/is such a gifted actor.
I hope he does turn in one really good performance before he does decide to call it quits.
He truly has had some great performances, especially as David Addison and John McClane.

He truly has had some great performances, especially as David Addison and John McClane. That makes sense. He might as well make the money while he can. But if his performances are suffering because he's taking on too much, then people might stop hiring him. He's only hurting his own career then. I'm amazed that he can still bring in that many viewers to a movie. I find it so interesting that he became such a huge star.
He may have had a really good performance in the last year or so, but since he's done so many things I don't see how anyone can watch them all. I know I don't have the time to do that.

Not sure if he had any good performances as his reviews have been consistently bad.

Wishing you all a very merry Christmas and a Happy New Year or all the best this Festive Season, whatever best agrees with you and yours!
I enjoyed myself enormously over those months when I was posting and I know I was very lucky to have met you instead of some other group of people who might have been prone to give up easily… Thank you.
Kind regards
Marta

Hi Marta,
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you, too.
I check this site daily, so if you ever feel like starting up again, I'm here to either agree or disagree. It's like you said... some of us do not give up easily. Bantering with you was fun... sometimes. Sometimes infuriating. But it's all good.
Hopefully, we'll talk soon...
Marlena

Marta, it's great to see your name on the board again. It reminds me of the times when we would all get caught up in this show on a daily basis. I miss those days, even if we fought each other tooth and nail over our opinions and beliefs about this show. We've already messaged our well wishings to each other, but I'll close this off by saying that I sincerely hope that you keep checking in on us from time to time.
