Tell me I'm not the only one who noticed the change in music from the original to the dvd's! During the scene when Maddie is dancing with Richie , the original music was "Natural Woman", sung by Aretha Franklin. I confirmed this by going back to an old videotape a friend had made, and was very disappointed with the substitution. I thought the original music was incredibly impactful and intense, while the substitution did nothing for me. Anybody else notice and care?

Hi
I believe you are mistaken. The original music for this episode is the Patti Labelle song "If Only You Knew" which is completely appropriate given the wonderful lyrics and the situation. When the Rona Barrett episode "The Straight Poop" aired in season 3 with clips from this scene...that is when the music was changed to be Natural Woman. I suspect it was changed at that time because the clip was used then to show Maddie's viewpoint and not David's (The sentiment of If Only You Knew was David's viewpoint).

Yep, gotta agree with Cindy, the original music was definitely Patti LaBelle. It completely works when you see the scene from David's perspective...

I've always loved Patti's "If Only You Knew" and back when this ep first aired it made the scene extra special for me besides the fact that it perfectly reflected David's feelings.
