Okay, I guess somebody has to get something going on these things so it might as well be me.
I just have to say this. After watching the episode on the new DVD twice (once normal and once with the commentary), this is still one of my all time favorites. I think I knew then that this was definitely one of the better detective shows on tv at the time. I mean, they dared to do things that had never been done on any hour long drama before and they did it all tongue in check. Isn't that what entertainment is supposed to be all about? Why can't we have anything like Moonlighting on tv again?
Let's all just walk away from the tv sets now until a good show or until Moonlighting is back on tv!

hello Rod
This is my favourite episode too. I just watched it with the commentary - it's fabulous. There are some great stories - I liked the one that Glenn tells about the Emmy awards where he bought everyone tickets and they all cheered, and then they only won one out of 16.
This is just a fabulous episode. I love they way they switch to black and white, the way they tell the two stories, all the music. It's such an atmospheric episode too. It's dark, but funny, especially David's dream.

I like this episode too. Both of the dreams are really fun to watch but I also like the arguments they have in the car and in the office.
It is one of my favorite parts when Maddie takes the nap on the couch and she is listening to music. It then turns into the old record player that Rita is listening to.

When this episode was first on way back in 1985, I was so excited to get to see Maddie and David kissing. This was such a thrilling thing and yet maintained the tension on the show between the detectives since it was all dream/fantasy.
My favorite kiss in this episode is the one that takes place in front of the window in Zach's apartment where the kissing gets so intense that Zach drops his horn. Quite hot, indeed!
Notice how in each dream sequence it is the other person who initiates the first kiss between the fantasy characters. Interesting!

Notice how in each dream sequence it is the other person who initiates the first kiss between the fantasy characters. Interesting! You know, I hadn't noticed that at all! But you're totally right. I guess it's because they are both dreaming that they are each being taken advantage of by the other. This is such a great episode!! I'm so pleased to have it on dvd. Love Gem

This is my favorite episode. I just don't think it gets much better than this. Though I love love love the first 3 seasons, this is truly a high water mark in my opinion. Just gorgeous to look at, and so clever in dealing with the story of Rita/Zach/Maddie/David. Perfection!

And how totally sexy, amazing and unlike Maddie Hayes is Cybill in David's dream? That's my favourite part - the fact that Cybill plays a siren when, up to this point, we have only seen straitlaced Maddie. The way she dresses in David's dream is also so sexy and so different from the way she dresses in her dream. Fantastic!

Yep, it seems that David's fantasy is that Maddie underneath all her icy exterior is more like Rita in his dream. I did notice that David seems to equate this sexy strong woman with being dangerous, even lethal...
I thought it was fascinating when I read the info on D&M.com about the comparisons between Maddie/Rita in David's dream being a tribute to Gilda..

Ok, so whilst watching these lovely new DVDs with a ridiculous grin on my face I realised that this episode was actually the very first one I saw - in November/December last year (yes I know I'm very new to all this!), so is it any wonder I suddenly took notice of this TV programme? Actually I had no idea what was going on, I just enjoyed the clever storyline of this particular episode. Now i can put it all into a little more context, I love it even more!! Think Bruce and Cybill both look drop-dead gorgeous and certain scenes are particularly "hot"!!

I love this episode too. It's my favorite so far. The whole POV in wich other dreams is pure genius ! David's dream was the funiest. I liked his version more.

Just rewatched this one yesterday. Something struck me - there's a certain symmetry with this and I Am Curious Maddie as in one of the 'romantic scenes' in Dream Sequence, Maddie is wearing a sheet and David an undershirt and boxers. Just something I noticed!

When you're right, you're right, Funkycat!!! I noticed that too. Sense of deja vu if you watch this episode followed by IACM! :-)

Just something I noticed! Nice observation! Never noticed before. Now I can´t not notice it. The scenes could be twins! Or however you express yourself when you´re stunned.
