Hi,
I was watching the Pilot a coupla weeks ago and when I watched the scene where D and M danced in that dodgy bar, I realised just how influential ML has been on my musical tastes. When I re-watched the pilot for the first time for ages last year, I was struck with the song 'Since I fell for you' by Lenny Welch - I had never heard of him before I must admit, but every time I play that song (I now have his greatest hits!), all I think about is that scene, and the bit where David smells Maddies hair... Wow!
I think I can attribute my love of Billie Holliday to watching Season 3 episodes when they first came out too.. "Don't know whyyy, there's no sun up in the sky..stormy weath-er....."

My musical diet has been mostly Classical and instrumental (my whole family is really heavy duty into it), so I really wasn't exposed to much "popular" music. Moonlighting introduced me to many songs (some of them standards for everyone else on the planet), that I'd never heard before. Sometimes, the first time I heard a song was when David sung it, so from then on, when that song was played or mentioned, I hear Bruce Willis singing it in my mind. I always remember that I first heard it on "Moonlighting."
They had excellent taste for music on "Moonlighting." Now that I look back, they really chose some great stuff—appropriate stuff. I had never heard "Big Man on Mulberry Street" before Moonlighting, but I was immediately smitten with it. A few years ago, when I first got hooked up with iTunes music store, one of the first songs I bought was "Big Man." I go through phases where I play it a lot.

Well, I am the exact opposite, I have never actually heard a lot of the music they have used in ML. But, because they have used it so well, I love a lot of the songs I'm hearing and I'm being introduced to whole genre of music I honestly thought I would never like. But from "Since I Fell For You" to "Be My Baby" to "Papa Was A Rolling Stone", the songs are perfect for the situation/emotions et cetera, et cetera, et cetera!

I just bought the CD from Bruno (ultimate collection). There is also the soundtrack of moonlighting included, but I think there are a lot of great songs missing. I mostly miss the song from "brother, can you spare a blond" If only you knew

oh, there are tons of great songs they have used in Moonlighting. I have quite a few of them - I was wondering a while ago, does anyone know if there is any sort of place that we could all upload these tracks somewhere so that we could all share what we have? I bet if we put together what we all have, we could come up with quite a collection. Does anyone know of anyhere we might be able to do that??

Maybe if we send those songs per E-mail to those who are able to upload the songs on this side? ? But then we need an e-mail adress!

I think that is a great idea Gem, as there are a few songs I have but then others (Be My Baby for example) are a bit harder to come by due to the music rights dispute thingy. And as good as the song is I'm a little reluctant to go buy the Dirty Dancing soundtrack just for one song. (Yes I'm from Yorkshire, yes I'm tight with my money.....!!!!! : Surely if we all pitched in we'd be able to get the songs together. Not sure where or how though, so i'm not really any help - just lending my support for the idea though!

ok, well I think this is a great idea, the more I think about it! (even if I do say so myself!!). I shall do some research and see if I can find a place where we can upload and share mp3's. I may not be able to, but it wouldn't hurt to have a look. If anyone else knows of anywhere, please let us know. Babyhayes - you're from yorkshire?? You're right, they are pretty tight down there Love Gem

Hey Gem, I tried that link and yes it came up that I was looking at your folder and that the file is currently empty - which is what is supposed to happen I'm guessing?
And yes I am from Yorkshire, we're like the Scottish but without the generosity apparently!! ;D I love our British stereotypes, so much fun!!

The only problem as I can see is, that there is not much space. 30 MB? Maybe I understood wrong, but if it`s really only 30 mb, then there is only space for 8-10 songs! If I`m wrong, please tell me!

No, that's right, there isn't a lot of space, so it isn't ideal. Does anyone know of anywhere else that does anything similar, but with more space??

Maybe n own e-mail account at yahoo? It has 1 GB space. We could publish the password so everyone could download the songs from there by opening the mails (songs). The only problem is, I don`t know what happens if to people want an access at the same time (if that should happen), but it could work.
