I am reluctant to give any of the episodes that bad of a rating, especially the early ones, but I had to stick with only '6' because I thought Dave was kind of on the mean side in this one, and I found the subject matter rather depressing.
I voted '6' primarily because the last 20-30 mins. of the episode are still exciting and funny. Otherwise it might have been lower.
I understand what you are saying but I kinda thought the opposite and thought it was pretty good. Them turning into a dating service was interesting, I always like TV episodes that goes different from the norm. The end scenes in the hospital almost had rolling on the floor with laughter. It was funny stuff.
I went ahead and gave it a 10 just because I personally like the episode
I would give this episode about an 8 - I think it has some great moments. Love the Stevie Wonder music while David is looking for the future Mrs Tupperman. I also like the scene on the plane. The bit where David asks Maddie for one of her shoes to open the door at Tupperman's house and then he proceeds to use it to smash a window always makes me laugh. She says something like "What's wrong with your shoes?" and he says"Nothing, largely because I don't let people go around smashing windows with 'em!" LOL
I've voted 7 as I like it but wouldn't put it up amongst my favourites. It's one of those episodes where I actually forget a lot of it even after I have just watched it, but I love the whole scene with David breaking in with Maddie's shoe ("What's wrong with your shoe?" "Nothing, largely because I don't let people break in with them" or something along those lines!)
Please can someone help me with one Agnes line though - in the office near the beginning of the episode Maddie asks her "What IS it?" and try as I might I cannot make out what Agnes then says. I think this is because she talks at about 10 words per second and I can't keep up! Can anyone help? Thanks!

I like this episode - especially David smashing window with Maddies shoe. I like the way she screamed. She is kinda moral person, ex model and everything that comes with money, glory and.. Well, I really don't know how to describe her in English.. Oh you know what I want to say And David who used to drunk a lot, had a lot of girls and be with that kind of people. I like when their oposit personalities fight
This episode is one of them that goes in many directions with the storytelling. First, we get a glimpse of Maddie and David trying to figure out what to do with their lives together and instead they seperate as they are trying to find Tupperman's bride.
The quest for the perfect soulmate/bride is hillarious, Maddie is the utmost conservative type where David tries every single - and cheap sometimes - trick in the book of dating. The scene where each of them presents their candidate is very funny.
Finally, we have a real screwball ending, a classic ML one.
I'll give it an 8, because the chase at the hospital in the end reminds me of the old classic comedies, Greek and foreign.
Wow, I haven't rated this one yet! Just having rewatched it for the millionth time recently, it deserves my rating: 8.. and a half.
Once again David tricks Maddie into doing something she doesn't want to do, gotta love that. First the could-have-been a date, it's soo cute in the elevator when they go back up to the office to get David's coat... aww. And then more cuteness by the elevators after Tupperman has left "Why did he go to you? Cause you're a woman, Maddie!".
I really don't see why Stevie (sp?) is hot, but it's the 80's and lucky for us styles and trends were different. ;D Still I find it a little mean to kill her off.. she wasn't evil just because she never used ash trays.
The wheelchair chase is really funny, Maddie looks more scared than I think anyone can act. That was real scareness! hehe Yeah, greatgreat episode.

I decided to re-watch this one because it kind of was the Halloween episode (Bride of Frankenstein and all), and it is really romantic! More romantic than I remember season 3 being. So cute, so flirty and the prospect of an actual, honest to goodness date. And the mystery was pretty decent too. I concur, great-great episode, I give it a high-8 (9 if they had actually had a normal date )

The D/M scene in the elevator when they decide to go out and look a little uncertain and vulnerable is very cute. I so wish they had actually gone out. I'm sure they could have compromised and found something to do or eat that they both liked. Their polar opposite personalities seemed to be particularly emphasized in the first half of this episode and it made me a little sad because it seemed to me like they could never have a lasting relationship. But it would have been satisfying to see it happen.
Tupperman's scheme was nonsensical. Did he really go through all that trouble for 'just-in-case' money? I don't get it.
It was sweet the way David pulled the blanket up over Maddie's shoulder. He's not as unfeeling as she sometimes calls him. A lot of that cocky bluster is just for show and self-protection.
The chase at the end was great! I loved the skeleton and the plastic surgery patient. LOL
