What is David Addison's best look? It's hard to beat him in the white dinner jacket from "Money Talks", but he looks great in a sweater too, a la "In God We Strongly Suspect". There's also something to be said for the all-out grunge of "Witness", and the goatee in "Atomic"... and y'know he does wear a poncho well... Oh, and let's not forget the infamous heart boxers! The one thing that consistently cracks me up are those femmy little loafers he's always wearing. I know they were in style then, but man, are they funny!

For me, it's gotta be the grunge of Witness or the even more grungey t shirt in Maddie's Turn to cry...
Those loafers are really funny aren't they? Its one of the few things he wears that date v.badly!!

I like the "Body Heat" scene from Tracks of my Tears - very tasty!!! He never really appeals to me when in a suit, but the unshaven grungey look from Witness I love. Personally, I think the scruffier he is, the sexier he is.

Oh yes, he's gorgeous in Tracks of my Tears. I like David in a tux, but not so much in a shirt and tie. However, I think he looks stunning in just a white shirt in the Straight Poop. He doesn't have it done up to the top, it's a bit smart/casual

Oh how much do I love this thread?
Having just watched "Money Talks..." I have to say I really like David as he comes out of the casino with Maddie and he has his white shirt undone a few buttons.....oooh yes very nice!!!! Again, its the slightly dishevelled and unkempt (ooh thats a big word for me to come out with on a Sunday night) look that I like!
In the interests of research I think it is necessary for me to go and watch more episodes as this thread could be never-ending, and it is quite important I answer as much as I can!

Yes, I think you should research this in more detail, Babyhayes!!! Oh yes, unkempt and dishevelled is what David does best... Especially when he's mostly wearing that tux in the casino. I love the episodes where he comes into the office without having shaved, and half wearing a shirt and jacket!! Not everyone can 'do' that look so well... Mul

I think it would be beneficial if we all went away and participated in some of this research! Love Gem

Can't believe I've answered this thread a few times now and I've missed out the greatest one of them all....I love him in the blue baby suit!!!!! Ok I'm sorry, I know it's not everyone's favourite and it's not actually David Addison as such, but hey it makes me laugh! I need to get out more.....

I definately agree about the grungy look!! Something about that that's very appealing. I also like him in the sweaters he wears in a lot of the episodes, Knowing Her, A Trip to the Moon.

I like the grungy look, and he pulls it off well, but he's got the body for suits (as I mentioned on another Fashion thread). The broad shoulders, slim hips and long waist make him look fabulous in a classic shirt (with or without tie) and classic pleated trousers. These sort of suits can look dull and boring on some guys, but on David, they were a delicious contrast to his less-than-conventional personality. (And, they were cut in such a way to flatter his body.)
David could look "respectable" in a business environment because he was dressed "properly," but then he'd start to act brash, shameless and obnoxious. I don't know how to explain it, but I loved the irony, and so I always preferred him in his suits.

I agree with gypsygem81 that David is at his most attractive in "The Straight Poop", with simply a shirt and very short hair. BTW, I also like Maddie's hair in that episode, it shows that she had her hair done but not in that 80s exaggerated way

Laugh if you want, but I liked him best in a regular suit and tie for work. "I like my suits to be worn with a little bit of danger"--John Lydon "There's nothing I can tell you, you look good when you wear it well"--Felix da Housecat, "Ready 2 Wear"
