I really don`t want to put you off any further from watching season 5 but about three or four episodes from the end Maddies married cousin ( Annie)comes to town and well lets just say that David has a complete personality transplant and becomes romanticaly involved with her. . I'm shocked again! I always thought that David and Maddie will finish together, even not married, without that child. I am so sad, I can't imagine how Maddie felt about that Poor her. She loved him, lost their child and now she lost him... She doesn't deserve it..

I'm thinking about that whole day. I was imagining those scenes - disapointed Maddie staying in house, watching out of the window where David and her-cousin-who-must-not-be-named talking and going somewhere together. I can imagine tears in her eyes. That's terrible. I don't understand how writer could do that???

That my friend is what we all ask ourselves every minute of everyday , and why we all want- need- must have a Moonlighting reunion show/episode to give the show proper closure and undo all the wrongs that the original writers did! :)So we can all sleep in our beds peacefully and it`s a great excuse to see if that oh !soo hot chemistry is still there between Cybill and Bruce ;D

I think all of us is eagerly looking forward for a Moonlighting reunion movie or some closure to the series. "Lunar Eclipse" was a disgrace to us fans.
However...it is more likely that Hollywood would remake the series and cast new actors as David and Maddie (it would never be the same). Knowing them, they'll probably make a horrendous bone-headed choice like pairing up Meg Ryan with Kevin Costner
Perhaps Bruce and Cybil would make a cameo appearance to save the day..

I think about all of this in two ways. I won't be good if it's classic happyend, shows have a lot of these. Two main characters who used to hate themselves end up together. That is something diferent and better (it's not common). But as I love David and Maddie so much, I must say I'm sad becouse of this ending. I think she didn't deserve it. So, this show didn't finish like all the other comedy TV series - it doesn't have happyend. But I hope B&C will act this great so it won't be such a disaster. But I must say I'm glad it didn't finish in common way, although that doesn't mean I'm not sad becouse of Maddie. There are a lot of great movies which doesn't finish with happyend but we also love them. I hope you understood what I wanted to say - this is quite confusing post.

I personally have no problem with a happy ending. Life is depressing enough as it is. David and Maddie deserve to be together.

I understand that and I think the same. But all I wanted to say is that all TV comedy series finish in the same way - two main actors who used to hate themselves end up together, and that you don't need to watch them at all. But ML is special, you don't know what will happen next, and you watch it more excited. And it is great.

I was totally shocked. This is one of those episodes that everyone was talking about the next day! The writers really socked it to us, didn't they?!? They pulled us in hook, line and sinker!! This episode has become one of my top favorites. I think it was very under appreciated though, simply because we are talking about a 1 hour TV show that has an 8 or 9 minute dance scene! Who has had the guts to do that type of thing again!! Come to think of it, they did again with the Shakespeare episode. And IMO, Cybill was at her best. The initial hotel room scene was good work on her part. I remember being totally pulled in!! Still am! Except for one other TV show that I have started watching (and had to catch up on the first 3 seasons with DVD's) I do not remember ever being hooked on a show like ML. For me, when ML ended TV was never the same!

OMG!!! Was I stunned!?!? Oh, yeah, the first time I saw this, I wasn't expecting David to have been married before. I had also never seen his angst very much until this episode. He was really a different David in this one. A more serious, more recluse, David I think. I didn't expect the dance number and loved it. I had no idea BW could dance like that? Wow!!! I re-watched it again last night with the commentary and really enjoyed it more than the first time I saw it. It has never been one of my favorite eps, but I do like A LOT of the scenes.
