A little like "Big Man" I had preconceived ideas that as this involves something i'm not a huge fan of, I wouldn't enjoy it all that much. I really should have learned by now though that this is Moonlighting and things are never quite as you expect them to be.
Despite never reading Taming Of The Shrew and not having any idea what is is all about, I am actually glad I went into this episode with an open mind (or is it ignorance?!). I really enjoyed the whole thing simply for what it was - Moonlighting in a very different context. It was all still there - the office workers with not much to say, the overlapping dialogue, Agnes/Bert, slamming doors and of course the music. Bruce singing at the wedding was a great touch, and what a fun song it is! Never heard it before. Cybill looked absolutely stunning, even if she didn't enjoy the weight of the costumes etc!
I listened to the commentary on this straight after too, which I found great (well it's C & B isn't it?!) but the only bit that is getting on my nerves slightly is Jay Daniel's comments. Was there any need to give us the EXACT dates when Cyb was "taken ill"? Listening to what he goes on to say I don't feel it has any relevance to be honest. And if I was Bruce, I'd be a little freaked out that Jay knows he had his skiing accident on the 1st March. I'm lucky if I can remember a year never mind making a note of exact dates that I cut my toenails. I applaud Cyb when she says she watched the episode 3 years ago and remembered it for the fun they had, not the problems they had. Anyone else finding that with Jay Daniel? Will I find his commentary on Big Man irritating?! There's only one way to find out i guess!
