I have always felt this was one of the most pivotal episodes of the series. From this point on, the relationship between Maddie and David became front and center the majority of the time. Boy, this episode really turned up the heat. I love this one a whole bunch.
Ever thought about the title... it references the classic 1966 Bob Dylan album of the same name. One of the classic songs from this album was Just Like A Woman....
Now, I don't know how many of you are familar with the Edie Sedgwick connection...but this album is supposedly a lot about her. She was a cool icy blonde actress/model that Dylan was supposedly infatuated with. If you don't know anything about Edie...well you may have a chance soon to learn more about her as they are currently making a movie based on her short life called Factory Girl (after the Andy Warhol art studio where Edie got famous) Sienna Miller is playing her, Guy Pearce is playing Andy Warhol and Hayden Christenson is to play the Bob Dylan character that they had to rename for some legal/creative reason.
Interesting...
When we have time I want to have a nice Erica Jong "Fear of Flying" reading of this episode. It is the real deal.

Odd thing I noticed. In the three of the four arc episodes with titles involving music--one from an album, one for a group and one based on a song--unless I miss my guess, none of them actually have that music played in that episode. Plenty of other songs are there, sure, and the plot points may be drawn from various elements in songs, but I don't think we hear from any of these artists in the soundtrack per episode. That was always a head-scratcher for me.

Since I fell for you was on the pilot, another artist's version. Al Jareau gives a powerful performance though in this one. And do notice that for the first time when the picture freezes and the song fades out you would expect the Moonlighting theme to come along over the end credits.
Noooo, you get the song's continuation. All things point out that we have stepped in new territory.

I've just watched this episode again, and how great is the writing, the acting, everything about this series that I can still cry along with David, every single time I see it. And I am so thankful that it did not end with the theme music. It would have changed the whole mood. Al Jarreau's version of this song is heartbreaking. Brilliant.

Bluevelvet,
Totally. The way they continue the song is perfect. And David's face at the end? OMG

Bluevelvet, Totally. The way they continue the song is perfect. And David's face at the end? OMG Always made me think of the song "Fool in the Rain." But I understand why they went with the song they did, as it ties in with when they first met.

This is the beginning of a hell of a ride, and I totally love it!
