I just saw an episode of Psych (Fridays at 10 EDT, USA Network) that rang a different bell. Viewers will know that Cybill plays the mother of one of the main characters in the show, played by James Roday. Corbin Bernsen portrays his father.
Anyhow, in the episode that aired on August 14th, entitled HE'S DEAD, one of the characters uses the term "No Flies on You"...something near and dear to ML from the pilot. I STILL have no idea what that means.
This isn't too shocking when you read the bio on the show's creator:
Steve Franks, Creator/Writer/Executive Producer
On the television side, Franks has been involved in numerous projects for ABC, CBS and NBC networks. A fan for many years of classic, light detective shows like "Moonlighting" and "Magnum P.I.," Franks created a character this year who shares a similar tone -- a psychic detective who has no psychic abilities ... and "Psych" was born.

Totally random, but...the latest episode of Mark Harmon's show, NCIS, is called "Moonlighting." Tee hee! ;D

There has been a lot of brouhaha recently comparing "Bones" to "Moonlighting"....along with the inevitable "Jump the Shark" comments. I decided to check out Bones......never watched before......and I have to tell you, I was pleasantly surprised. It is certainly NOT ML...but I like it, and there is a good bit of chemistry between the two main characters. I am almost through season one, and have started to watch the current shows as well (that's a little confusing, I must admit). Anybody else a Bones fan?
On the other hand, Castle.......which they keep trying to compare to ML......has been very disappointing. The writing is very uneven, and there is no spark between the two leads. It's really a shame...I had high hopes for it. Did anybody happen to catch last night's episode? There was a part of the plot lifted from ML......and this is not the first time that has happened. As they say...imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

Never really watched Bones, though the few eps I've seen were pretty good.
Yes, Castle has been a bit disappointing. I'm trying to hang with it, thinking they will spice things up soon, but how long are they going to have Castle and Beckett date other people, act jealous, roll their eyes, etc.. Like the two leads, but there is definitely something missing....maybe we are spoiled? I know I am. Anytime other shows say they are like ML I just laugh...yeah, right! Good luck with that one....

Scoundrels also stars David James Elliott....late of JAG fame.
I'm still stuck on Bones......almost at the endof season two, and I am liking it more and more.

Anyone here like Glee? Check it out if you haven't yet. I do believe the young man named Puck will remind you of someone in his younger days......

I've caught the Glee fever myself! Though I'm chagrined at the recent episodes' nosedive in terms of consistency and storyline coherence, the musical numbers are still a kick (pun intended) and the performers tremendously appealing. And, indeed, Puck does remind me of a young David Addison, complete with soulful green eyes, sexy smirk, rock'n'roll attitude...and an icy blonde who drives him crazy!

I am a GLEEK myself.....not surprising, given my love for all things theatrical.
God bless the internet....I picked up this tidbit this week. The last episode...the Funk one......which I think might be the weakest of the season, was aired out of order. It was originally intended to air before Theatricality (the GAGA episode). The consensus seemed to be that it was such a weak episode that it really didn't matter where it aired.....but I still think Theatricality would have made a better lead in to the season finale.
I thought the Sue/Shu interactions were just WRONG ( even though I think Jane Lynch is just genius), and the whole Quinn comparing teenaged pregnancy to being a minority seemed to me to be convoluted logic, at best.
I am looking forward to the finale.......would love to get some great surprises!

I don't too watch much on tv these days, and depend on dvds for classics, but I LOVE Mad Men. COMPLETELY hooked. The Mentalist is good too (Simon Baker, swoon), but I didn't think Season 2 was as good as the first. Not sure I'll stick around for 3.

I agree with others about Hugh Laurie on House (I love him on all his British shows too), but he's just plain swoon-worthy) on House. I don't watch that often, though, even though a good friend of mine is a regular, because I've been sick with a Mystery Illness for years, and I always come away from it convinced I have the plague or something horrible. Hee, hee.

I like very much House MD, never miss an ep. Bones is not bad either. I tried Castle but it hasn't captured me much - I agree with you, Diane. I like also CSI: Miami and Cold Case. Someone mentioned Life on Mars, that British program - that aired in Germany about 4 yrs ago, and I watched it; it was fabulous too! And, of course, currently I'm watching ML every night - going through my season 2 dvds.

I've noticed a few posts about Bones around these parts. In the past few months, I've been having ML viewing parties with a dear friend who is a fan of Bones. She initially wanted to compare and contrast, and also see why I'm so hooked on ML. Tonight she told me about the episode before the finale and the finale itself. I have not seen a single episode, but from her description I just thought, "What the . . . ?" My friend is NOT happy. At all.
I'm just curious if those of you who watch the show had a similar reaction to how they finished the season. I thought it seemed rather ODD.
