Now I´m finally here! A tip to all of you who can´t log on/in: try to log in forever (not 6 hours or shorter, anyway). I`M SO HAPPY NOW that I´m here!
I thought I was being ironic when I said I rooted for Finland, even though I really liked the "song". Those who have something against them say it´s because the contest will die if any song can win. I thought it was fair, they got a lot of 12´s. No, I didn´t vote. Wouldn´t wanna do something that Lithuania encouraged me to do (you know, we are the winners..)
I feel like a 8-year old school girl: I loved the UK the most... And Malta, Greece, Germany, Turkey, Ukraine. I have a wide taste in music..
Last year I said I wouldn't watch it anymore. I did tho. And again, the Netherlands didn't make it to the finals. The magic of the festival is gone. It's all about friendship and neighbours now. People from our side of Europe don't stand a chance.
Ooh, Netherlands was one of my favorites, along with Denmark and Andorra, and neither made it to the final. I've really tried to stop seeing it as a contest, I would like to be able to just see it as entertainment, a good way to get to hear European music. I know most people watch it to make fun of the performances, but I usually end up loving a lot of new songs every year. UK's entry from last year is on my mp3 player, as is Russia's. ;D I'm going to watch the Dutch version, bet I like that one too.. That is exactly the kind of schlager-music I go for. <3

I just have on thng to say about Eurovision last night. What the hell..... Serbia and the Ukraine , i`m sorry but there were much better songs than those two that deserved to win . I know that the UK entry wasn`t that great , personally i would have put my money on Turkey and i didn`t mind the Russian entry either but i hope i don`t sound rude but what WAS the Ukraine thinking?. I was under the impression that the whole contest was supposed to be about TALENT and showing the rest of Europe and the world your country`s best of the best. But it seems to me it`s becoming a bit like a three ring circus!. Maybe it`s just shows how different peoples tastes are in mainland Europe. So not to end on a negative note and it sounding like sour grapes, even though it wasn`t my favourite,congrats... to Serbia.
I agree, had the Ukraine won it would have proved that the contest isn't about what we thought it was. Serbia on the other hand had a song I really liked. Sure, I don't know the language but I still felt it spoke to me. I know from the Eurovision boards I am on that it's an either-or thing, some just found it plain boring. A powerful ballad winning was a nice change, it's the first since '96.
I wish the countries could for once take it more seriously and send their best songs and artists, even though I usually like the corny-ness of for example the UK, I know they/you can do so much better.
Sweden ended up as 18th, and I'm afraid I have to say they didn't deserve much better. It wasn't anywhere near there best performance, imo. So see you in the semi final next year. :/
