After watching the opening scene of this episode, right before Agnes greets the "viewers", she rhymes. I couldn't understand clearly - 'cause she's talking to fast - but did she say somewhere that it was "the end of the show"? I am not sure but kinda sounded that way. If it's true, it must have been really tough for them to deal with making the show, knowing that this would be their last season It's sad. BTW: I just can't wait 'till I'm over with Season 5, so that I can delve into the previous seasons again (together with Cybill season 2). I really need to be in an upbeat mood ;D

I can't remember exactly what she says, but I think they had noticed that there was a lack of viewers during season 4... Bert even says something about the viewers not liking him. So they could have been playing off that they saw the viewers returning (in the camera) when this episode starts.
I have to watch this again soon for a better answer. But no, I don't think they were saying anything about them knowing this was the last season. But yes, they probably knew it was. Bruce had a 5-year contract (correct me if I'm wrong) and it was no secret that he was moving on after that.
(Cybill season 2 is hilarous!)

frontier, what you may be hearing is Agnes' reference to the fact that Season 4 was cut short due to the writers' strike. I believe she says something about "the end of last season - management wouldn't listen to reason". I'll have to watch it again to get the exact lines.

I know, season 5 can really bring you down. when i remove myself from what the show was in the beginning, i do enjoy some of the episodes, but i have to prepare myself to watch them. i haven't watched Womb since march, so i'll have to watch and listen to hear agnes' rhyme. i do like this episode, but it makes me sad. they should have ended the series after I see england and not brought it back from hiatus. wow, i just strayed from what we were trying to figure out from this post. sorry, i just have strong feeling about season 5. LOL

You could be right lin, she says something like that but she is talking to fast to understand And my TV does not support Closed Captions, so I can't read it. LOL I've just watched LE, but this time it was easier. It's like what you've said: you have to be prepared for Season 5, otherwise it can be really depressing. (Cybill season 2 is hilarous!) Zing!!! ;D I just love Cybill Shepherd - I loved her since my 15ns - she's a great actor and on "Cybill" is just awesome as a comedian.

OK, frontier - here is the rhyme or most of it. There are a couple of words that I can't quite make out. I will put a line and hopefully someone else will be able to fill in the blank.
"Bue Moon Detective Agency Some low-down no-goodnik made off with your dough? We can't solve your case cause we don't have a show. We went off the air at the end of last season Cause management wouldn't listen to reason. Blue Moon's still here though there's one thing _____________ Our millions of loyal intelligent fans. But hang in there mister it'll just be a bit You won't have to deal with the rerun shhh.."
Hope this helps.

Thanks lin for the rhyme transcript, it was quite revealing I think that they new right from the start of the Season 5, that this would be the last one of them, 'cause "management wouldn't listen to reason"...

Actually, frontier, I believe that "management wouldn't listen to reason" is a reference to the fact that Season 4 was cut short because of a writers' strike and that Season 5 didn't actually air until the beginning of December instead of the usual September date. The show (along with others) was shut down for several months until the strike was settled and therefore reruns were shown to fill in the time.

I think it's: "Some low-down no-goodnick went off with your dough? We can't solve your case 'cause we don't have a show. We went off the air at the end of last season 'cause management wouldn't listen to reason. Blue Moon is still here, though theres one thing we're sans - our millions of loyal, intelligent fans. But hang in there, mister, it'll just be a bit 'til you won't have to deal with this rerun sh..." I only know because I've re-watched the pre-credit opening more than ten times over the past seven days. I'm so torn on this episode - I think the opening sequence is the funniest, most original "in-your-face-TV-critics" mini-production I've ever seen, but I loathe the end. What the hell, Moonlighting? First of all they set up Maddie's pregnancy with the cute Baby Hayes idea, only to have it come to such a heartbreaking, gut-wrenching conclusion and then say: "Oh, don't worry. It'll all get better with a little song-and-dance routine." What I hate almost as much as this is the fact that, taken out of context, that song-and-dance routine is actually really good.

Season 5 depresses me too. Especially with the Annie episodes. There is no chemistry between D&M and they seem to just dislike each other. I try to watch season 3...love those episodes!
