I gave this an 8. I liked the conversation in the mall between David and Maddie and the kiss.

I gave this one a 7. I think it's really sweet that Maddie gets Dave the car(if I remember correctly, it's one of the nicest things she does in the show for him?) and I love the scenes at the mall with the two of them. Most of season 5 seems to rest on those scenes. However, like most of season 5, it feels a bit different too. Maddie and Dave always seem somewhere between "We're a couple" and "we're pals". All that back and forth really makes it hard to know which one it is.

Ok going to start with something positive first this time Love the ending scene. David buying her the pearls and Maddie, really touched finally kissing him. Great scene and the next episode should have continued on in that fashion. That felt like David and Maddie finally. Also, I love Colleen Dewhurst. I did not remember her being on this show. I have such fond memories of watching her as Marilla in Anne of Green Gables growing up. Now I've got to vent about what I didn't like. "You're an ok lover...kiss too hard." Yeah right, we all know from previous seasons, Maddie had no trouble with the way David kissed or did anything else. Also hated their conversation about whether they were seeing other people. Ok Maddie buying David that car was funny and his reaction was cute. Can't help but think about how the car, the BMW, was a described as a symbol of their relationship in earlier seasons, demolition of the car in season 4 and all. Maddie buying David his own car was another way of putting distance between them. What they're not even going to ride together now? Was that silly car a symbol of Maddie's "pal" reference? I don't know guess I'm reaching here. But David gets rid of that at the end and gives her something she really wants. Oh things really could have turned around here.
