Unfortunately, Bruno's album sales show that Maddie was not alone in that reaction. And for the record, I STILL have my Return of Bruno cassette.....but I haven't had a cassette player since like 91. Now Gray......as somebody who has seen Bruce in concert several times (and even sung on stage with him!), I have got to tell you it is always a good time. What he may lack in vocals, he totally makes up for in enthusiasm! Hey, I like his old stuff!! In fact, I have it on my ipod!!

Bees said:
And I think we should give one to Diane for her quote of the day in her signature. .....I still get a big ol' lump in my throat when I hear David say that!!!
Thanks for the nomination. It was between that and "Brutal honesty and lack of tact. I like that in my failed relationships".
At the end of THH, I had the feeling that Maddie had finally decided to stop running. As she smiles and leans over to kiss David in the car, it is slow, deliberate, genuine. It is not the out- of-control, frenzied kiss of their previous encounters. She knew exactly what she was doing. So, one might expect that she had gotten over the "you're not the one I'm supposed to be with" syndrome. The Season 4 premier should have picked up at this point. UGH!
OMG I totally agree with this, lin, that's why I was so hopeful for season 4 - I thought "By George she's got it!"And then, well you know what happened...

Great discussion ladies, but since my Flyers just lost to the Penguins in the NHL playoffs, I must now go cry in my beer.

Did anyone else notice Bruce's comment in the commentary?
He said that he was certain that David was in love with Maddie, having had a crush on her from the first moment he saw her, but that he wasn't really sure that Maddie loved David. Wonder if he was speaking as of this episode or totally?
Objection........goes to characters' motivation.......sustained!
(sorry, I am watching a lot of courtroom drama during my time off!)

I have always wondered about that comment as well. I love the fact that when he said this it was like he was still attuned to David's character. It was something he could remember about the character as well, because in a lot of the commentaries there are times everyone seems like they have no memory of what was going on... a lot of confusion at times. Did I make sense??!!

And I just have to make one comment about the laundromat scene.....chesseburgers-- HA! Why would Maddie be longing for the ordinary? This just doesn't ring true...they are not ordinary people. You got that right, diane. Maddie is NOT your cheeseburger kind of gal. Maybe that's the problem, Maddie should not focus on "the fact" of having a cheeseburger and start enjoying the time with her love David, the cheeseburger is a prop (so to speak). There needs to be a constant rebuilding, a balance of the good and bad...enjoying the moment is necessary. Of course emptiness is inevitable if there isn't a replenishing. All the rules and discipline still does not stop Maddie from loving someone who does not fit her standards, from the get-go. This is not new to Maddie, David is who he is...I do agree, they are not ordinary by any means; their uniqueness is the basis of their bond, their love. I know there had to be conflict, as I stated before, yet it seems that they no longer enjoyed being around each other. Like it was a struggle to co-exist after sleeping together. Maybe that's why (un-essed) people tend to blame the beast with two backs for the decline of ML. It seemed to get really complicated afterward. Excuse the rant, I see so many great possibilities for the resolution of the things that "hit the fan" as Bees said (a tad frustrating) ...thank you for hearing me out.

Did I make sense??!! I always wondered if they viewed the episodes in this millennium. Cybill mentions in an interview she watched as much of a 17 hour marathon as she could (don't quote me). I heard Bruce on the DVD and felt he may have as well, not exactly sure if it was particularly for the commentaries; then I read Rumer found the ML videos in her Dad's closet. Bees... yes it is impressive for Bruce to be so very in tune with David's persona, even 20 years after...pretty cool.

1. At the end of "To Heiress Human," we left our favorite couple on the verge of being caught in flagrante Bimmer. What were you expecting from the Season 4 premiere? In what ways does TttM hit or miss the mark? Well, hearts and flowers would have been lovely, but I think we all knew that wasn't what our David and Maddie were all about. We knew we were in for some rocky seas, but what we got in this episode was not even close to what we expected. Where was the comedy...where was the case? If you were a brand new viewer, this episode wouldn't have given you a clue that these two worked together and ran a detective agency. Yes, there was innovation, and some great guest stars, but even the very well done Honeymooner scenes couldn't save this one. Hey all! WOW what an amazing thread we got going on, read it all! YAY for me LOL Ok some answrrs from me before i fall over LOL I agree with you Diane here! This episode does seem to make me crazy, it's definitley a big LOVE/HATE for me! I love it one minute and then GRRR i hate it, kinda, sorta LOL I really side with David on this one i think , I do feel like slapping Maddie upside the head a few times in this episode. Ahh gotta love these 2!
