Hey all! WOW i missed a good time! Sorry , my hubby got Playstation 3 this weekend and we were having some fun with it the last few nights. i even got TWILIGHT on BLURAY and watched it 2x! LOL Ok enough about me LOL So some great questions, lets see if i can tackle some!
3. Why does David oppose Maddie going into the bar and what do you think the real reason is why he waits in his car while she has dinner with Farley?
Well for one, it a seedy place, not a place for a woman who looks the way Maddie does, he knows this is important business and needs to be handled right so he feels with Maddie being there this wont happen. No one would take him seriously with her there and worse they could get hurt. Then David sitting in the car while Madde dines with Farley is beacause again he feels Maddie wont take care of this the way it should be done, he feels Maddie is new to this and would be a softie and not be able to be professional and take care of the business at hand and all heck he is worried about her too!

4. What is revealed as to Maddie’s character as she wakes up, enters Blue Moon for the first time as its CEO, works the Farley case and solves their first mystery? Maddie is a hard worker, she takes things seriously ,she loves to work and work hard she does. Shes not looking to make money by doing nothing. She wants to prove she not just another pretty ex model who cant handle a detectives business. Shes one tough cookie!

5. What is revealed as to David’s character as he starts working with the new boss? If i understand the question right LOL I think Davids used to working by himself and well not working very hard too by himself LOL he doesnt want to be told what to do and isnt liking Maddie coming in and trying to take over, he feels he knows what he is doing and she doesnt, and he feels shes just a pretty face he can sweet talk and keep doing things the way he always has done them. Well we see as time goes by, David becomes to rely Maddie casue he feels they are partners

There are so many gems tucked into this script. Which ones are your favorites? Here are some of mine. When David runs across the street to the other agency and is telling the receptionist to look "nonchalant" and then says "nonchalanter". "I'm still mad at you, Tiny" as David picks himself up from the bar floor. "Friend to friend, we want off this case." "I didn't make any promise to him" which continues with David's interpretation of what a "promise" is. "June, relax. I'll have a chat with the boys. Wally? Beave? Guys? Fellas? Guys?" Just a few of the many lines that make me grin. Lots of'em lin! Agnes: "This is our slowtime." - M: Mornings?" - A: "Well..." - M: "Monday?" - A: "Kind of." - M: "Spring?" - A: "The eighties!" D: "Working shoulder to shoulder, seeing eye to eye..." M: "Eating hand to mouth!" D: "I'm pencilling you in for a lotta lotta lunches, kiddo!" D: "Ask me about plan B!" M: "You have a plan B?" D: "Amazing but true." D: "Let's put a little motion int he ocean, kid!" D: "Great!! Now we're all gonna die! Let's make a few calls, maybe we can get a group rate at the cemetery!" And of course: M: "Addison, we don't belong in business together. We don't think alike. We don't agree on anything." D: "We agree on a lot of things! You like meatballs on your spaghetti? Me too. How 'bout books? Let's talk about books. Me, I read left to right. How 'bout you? Is that an amazing coincidence or what? Alright, you wanna get deep? Let's talk about sex. Who would've guessed? I like sex too. I think it's almost frightening how much we have in common!" ;D D: "If I get killed, I'm never going to speak to you again!" M: "Is that a promise?" Alright, great banter is still to come, but the writing's already cute.

No.2: I just watched this episode whilst wrapping xmas presents lol. What struck me was OMG how young they both looked! He looks particularly newbie with his unstyled hair before he got really cool :-) - very vulnerable. I also remember, at a tender age, already being totally smitten by him! Watching it today - they look they were having real fun working together here - some of the laughs between them are Cybill and Bruce coming through! There are several moments where Maddie looks truly shocked by some of David's behaviour and actions - almost like Cybill was seeing some of these actions for the first time and thinking okay - what's he gonna do next? lol.
Diane - totally jealous of your photo! The closest I got to him was when I was 19 and I went to a private gig in London (got in because a friend of mine was reviewing his performance for a music mag) and managed to get in thefront row! I was like only 2 feet away from him and was just soooo excited. I remember thinking - please smile at me or something! lol. I certainly got a bit of his sweat on me :-). That was the night he dragged Demi up and announced their third pregnancy - darn - no wonder he wasn't interested in me ha ha.

3. I just love the way Cybill smiles during and at the end of the alley scene and again when she has to button back up. It seemed perfectly natural and it looked as though she was really enjoying the work. I absolutely love the alley scene, Cybill is beautiful and Bruce is funny. And I agree that the scene seems very natural

So I rewatched this recently. I won't say anything about Bruce's hair. Hahaha!
Anyway, what stood out and what has already been said here before; Bruce and Cybill are obviously having a lot of fun with this episode. Cybill is cracking up in the alley scene and Bruce gets to enjoy his singing. It brought a smile to my face. The atmosphere is relaxed.
As for the plot itself: It was hilarious how David was able to succesfully steal another company's client right out from under their noses and got a date out of it as well! Is this guy a sweet talker of what? Farley Wrye sure goes through a lot of trouble trying to warn off the country's best hitman, but I suppose I understand that he couldn't lose in his situation. Either he got shot by the best hitman around, or he managed to save someone from the business.
Any more thoughts on this ep from anyone?
Side note: I read about people mentioning here how close they managed to get to Bruce Willis in real life. Diane managed to get a picture with him and Bluemoonshampoo went to his concert and got his sweat on her. Man, the closest I ever got was when I was on vacation in Los Angeles and stared up at the Eastern Columbia Building, thinking how the ghost of him might still linger after three decades. Hahahahaha! But hey, afterwards, I went to Hollywood and ran into Hugh Jackman. That also wasn't bad, but hey... he's no Bruce Willis...

I love this episode. I may be wrong about this, but I think when the show first aired, they used scenes from the alley scene to promote the show on a commercial. I'm pretty sure it was those commercials that really piqued my interest and made me watch. I love how when Maddie leaves the restaurant and is walking back to meet up with David in the car, that she walks to the beat of the music. It's silly, but I just think it adds something to the scene.
I agree that Cybill and Bruce look like they are having a lot of fun. I wish we could've seen more behind-the-scenes footage. So much was written about them not getting along, but I'm sure there were lots of good times, too. I saw an interview with Dana Delany where she said she experienced no tension on the set. And we've all seen the blooper where Cybill is sitting at her desk and Bruce is laughing and hugs her. Somebody out there must have this footage, please let us see it!
I've never come close to meeting BW, but my daughter's friend and her parents met him at Walt Disney World. They were standing on a line to get ice cream, and BW was right in front of them. The dad spoke to BW and offered to pay for his ice cream. Supposedly, BW just looked at him, said "No", and ignored them after that. Let's just say, it was not a positive experience for them.
I did meet Allyce Beasley, and I got her to personally autograph a picture of herself with Cybill and Bruce. It was at an event called Chiller Theater that was being held at a hotel in New Jersey. I think it was back in 2005. The unfortunate thing is that at that time in my life I was obsessed with The X-Files so I think my mind was more on the fact that her ex-husband guest-starred on an episode of The X-Files. I don't remember if I said anything to her...I'm pretty shy. But, if I could go back in time, I would ask her something about the behind-the-scenes on Moonlighting. Today, I really cherish this signed photo.

Ah, too bad that meeting BW wasn't a positive experience for them. I suppose it happens when you meet someone you somewhat look up to; it's impossible for them to live up to your expectations. They have bad days...ego's and what not. Hahaha!
How cool that you got to meet Allyce, though! I'm rather shy as well, so I never said anything to Hugh Jackman either. There were too many women around, screaming everyone's ears off. Hahahaha! I'm just not the type to push forward and say: "Shut up and let me have my picture with Hugh."
Anyway, I agree with you that, when it comes to Moonlighting, it's all about how Bruce and Cybill didn't get along. There had to be other times as well, especially at first. When you see early interviews, they're so taken with each other. And yes, the attraction is really there. I guess when you are thrust into someone's face for hours (and years) on end, you're bound to get irritated with each other at some point. Let's just leave it at that.

I think you are referring to male 80’s hair. The style looks like wings of a bird at the back. If grown a bit too long it develops a tuft in the middle that sticks out. I call it a duck bottom hair, most would probably be associating this with the males of Dynasty (TV series 1981-89). If you google Steven Carrington, Adam Carrington or Jeff Colby you will get images of actors playing these parts. I could not find an image of the back of the head though, where it really matters.
A waiter in TMWFE (about 11 minutes in) has this type of haircut and curly (EDIT: not curly just too long) hair, not a good combination. I am sure this haircut has a name. I shall ask my hairdresser – we must wait another 3 days for that! About spotting A list actors
I saw Nicolas Cage and a blonde in big sunglasses waiting with me for a flight from Paris to LA in November 1997. The blonde passed my seat on the plane (still wearing the glasses) and I think it was Meg Ryan. Why it is worth mentioning is that hardly anybody paid any attention to them while they acted like they wanted to be noticed. I suppose it would be impossible these days when all men, their wives and children are having phone cameras at the ready. Somebody would surely give in to temptation and snap them.

Now that you mention it, I think I have a picture of my father somewhere with that hairstyle. Hahaha! I suppose it was a thing back then. One day (if not already), our kids will look at our pictures from the past and poke fun at all the styles that we represented.
Your hairdressers are allowed to work again this week, Marta? So jealous! Still in lockdown with a curfew over here.
