2. Do you see any changes in Maddie and/or David from the beginning to the end of this episode?I'm not sure I really see any changes in David here--though, as diane mentions, we do see the "Mr. Relentlessly Upbeat" facade slip for a moment in that car scene. But I think Maddie becomes more willing to take risks here--especially in her first "chase." Also, it seems that David's "carpe diem" attitude has worn off on her a little bit; she goes from asking "why are we doing this?" to wrestling fake CIA guys with gusto!

4. What is your favorite scene? What about your favorite quotable quote?
For favorite scene, I think I'd have to go with the conversation they have in the car, when Maddie says, "Terrific! You really know how to whip up an evening's entertainment." They both look like they're having fun...I just can't help but smile when I watch them!
Quotable quote? I have to go with diane and the "iambic pentameter" line, though "Sure I'm sure! I'm surer then sure--I'm certain!" comes a close second. ;D

Hey everybody!! Mmwaaa to all!! Love your avatar gray!! Well, my questions will be redundant except for one....and I quite possibly may be making too big of a deal of this, but here goes: What recurring theme or scene appears in this episode for the first time? Hint: It has been discussed before and I think sheds light on how GGC wanted to add depth to Maddie and David's character development in later episodes. (although M/D or not in this particular scene!)

1. This is the last episode of season 1. How would you categorize Maddie and David's relationship at this point? Has there been a logical progression through the first season?
I agree with jpen on this one. David is smitten and Maddie has no idea where she is headed! I would say it has been a logical progression through the 1st season and if I had to put it in a category I would say it is strictly a business relationship with David thinking and hoping that there could be more...until the first ep in S2!!
2. Do you see any changes in Maddie and/or David from the beginning to the end of this episode?
Maddie still seems just as tough as she was in the pilot when she came to fire David, but there is a softness about her that shows here...the "People are basically good" thing and I think she just wants the business to work and make a profit.
David does work hard here to make money for Blue Moon with the hopes of impressing Maddie and hopefully get her attention.

4. What is your favorite scene? What about your favorite quotable quote?
"What are you doing?" "Nothing!! I've been clean for years!"
and when Maddie calls ECAC ICPOO. Cracks me up everytime!
"Salute you Addison!!" ;D
As far as favorite scene: I just think B/C look great!! Cybill's blue eyes are astonishing, she is playing Maddie dead on. Same for Bruce. They have got it going on by this time!! Great chase, great dialogue and a food fight!!

1. Maddie says twice in this ep "People are basically good." Do you think this philosophy is true to her personality generally? Does it hold up in subsequent seasons?
This is the softer side of Maddie that we don't get to see very often. She really does believe this about everyone...including David! In subsequent seasons I think she still believes this philosophy only she is tested over and over with her relationship with David and trying to run a successful business. I think she wants to believe it and tries very hard to do so.

And as long as Bees brought it up......as I was watching, I scribbled down in my notes....."Love Bruce in the very 80s grey tweedy sweater" PS.....welcome back, Since. Bruce's get up was OK, even the Member's Only jacket. But those loafers...... Cyb/Mad looked perfect. Not a flaw in sight. Great hair, great makeup, sparkling blue eyes, blindingly white teeth. And nary a filter to be found. Can you tell I am smitten??? Separate topic: The outside scenes in the episode were super. That rather expensive chase scene probably caused 5K of damage to the Bimmer, not counting the totaled Matador and the old Fairmont. Did you notice where they removed the rear head rests when they made the shot of them backing up in the alley? And a hearty welcome back to Since from me too!

That was just what I thought, jpen! Astonishing, Maddie was pleased to let herself talk into pursuing that case, in spite of "who's the client?" Of course, you mentioned already the best quotes; a cracking scene of course is the whole "man with a mole on his nose" thing; the faces of the three, especially the security guy, are priceless! And in the straight poop I keep on falling off my chair everytime I watch that poor guy struugle with the rhyme! ;D David's got a few nice one-liners like "There's somethin' rotten in Cleveland" or "door of the living dead". It's a good season finale, I think, and did you notice how he always grabs her by the arm/hand and drags her along? I like that!

Aha - the 'Bill Busters' episode! This is the one when I got my best friend hooked on it too. Favourite lines 'Door of the Living Dead' and 'I punched myself in the mirror' oh and 'Guess that's that, chase is over, he caught up with us!' - they crack me up. However, a little praise for Ms Dipesto here too, I loved her elongated rhyme in this ep when it's just the donut man on the other end of the blower :-D. Great way to end the first season too - with pie in their faces (Good idea of Cybill's I believe). Of course you have to love the Doctor Seus - and yes that man's face is crimson with the effort Sandra! Also did anyone notice just how green Bruce's eyes looked in this one? Dreamy :-). Oh and one more for the road - when David is trying to get Maddie to come out in the French maid's outfit he says 'Come on times a wastin'' is this a referal to Cash and June on stage togther? Just a thought. Anyway that's me done today. Have a story that I must go and revise/edit - See you all on here soon. x
