Yeah I think my next DVD investment should be X-Files, NZ TV doesn't seem to want to show repeats of it like they did in the UK. And then my NEXT investment after that might just be Season 3 ML - hopefully.....please....quickly.....soon.....like now...?

I have seasons 1&2 of x-files on dvd, I keep meaning to get the rest but haven't got round to it yet. They're not as expensive as they used to be. They were something like £80/£90 when they first came out, but you can get them for £30 in WHSmith now.
I can't wait for season 3 of Moonlighting on DVD either. I'm going to wear seasons 1&2 out by the time it's released!

It's a nice 1st episode, isn't it? I don't have it record, but I can remember some parts of the episode:-Most scary to me: When Maddie attempts to close the agency,David insults her, she slaps him.
-Most Romantic: When they dance in the bar.
Some lines I like it: David: "My goodness, Miss DiPesto, we’re looking a little pale today, aren’t we?"
Maddie: What’s so funny? David: You – you need me, Maddie Hayes. Maddie: I need you to leave. David: You need me to live, lady. Yeow…You are one cold, icy broad. You’ve got your nose so high up in the air, it’s snowing on your brain. Maddie: Helluva salesman, Addison. David: You need somebody like me around. I’m fun, Maddie Hayes. When’s the last time you had any fun? Maddie: I have lots of fun…..tons of fun. David: With who, Doctor Gumby – the knucklehead you were with tonight? How about you? Sakura_Star1

Whatever happened to the 4 million dollars worth of diamonds? If Maddie was really broke, I guess that's how they stayed afloat for so long without any cases. And to pay everyone else that worked for Blue Moon Detective Agency. They never mentioned the diamonds, but someone must've gotten them!

Dennis Lipscomb played the boring bad guy (that ended up wearing an obscene amount of blue rouge in the back of the car). He was in an episode of X-Files called "Miracle Man" where (if my memory serves) he was this weird guy who had terrible burns on his face. Dennis Stewart (we have a lot of Dennises here!) played "Blonde Mohawk." He's been in a lot of things, including an episode of "Misfits of Science"! He died in 1994—way too young. I was sad to hear that. Brian Thompson plays the muscle-bound assistant of Mr. Blue Rouge. He's been in a ton of stuff, including X-Files. The Eastern Columbia Building plays itself in the pilot. Read more about the building here.I just finished watching parts of the pilot again. It really is a lot of fun. That David is such a scoundrel! And I like Maddie with her "Sissy fighter" lines.

The "sissy fighter" scene was probably my brother's favorite. "That's not how you hit somebody..."
Hysterical.

Having just watched the pilot again, I have to say that I absolutely LOVE the way David Addison is introduced, playing basketball in his office. His face cracks me up every time and the whole "pale" thing is classic. Before I watched the pilot I wondered how David and Maddie would initially interact but "it" is there instantly, (and by "it" you all know I mean that chemistry). I had this fear it would start off all awkward and not quite right , but no, it is fabulous, sizzling along brilliantly. Love it! Ok, off to watch more...oh no have to go to work first, damn it all! but later when I get home...

-Most scary to me: When Maddie attempts to close the agency,David insults her, she slaps him. It just occurred to me--in a way, that's foreshadowing! This element becomes something else later on. Maddie is most often presented as the kind of person who is cool and collected, a thinker not a reactor, and would never do a thing like that-lose control, hit somebody-or at least thinks she never would. It happens again in "The Man Who Cried Wife." Notice David, shocked as he is, doesn't do anything (except get angry)? Of course, the incident repeats itself in "I Am Curious"--with words that somewhat echo the scene of the pilot. The running thread appears to be that there is always much more to a person than meets the eye. In particular reference to Maddie, it implies that there was a lot she wouldn't even admit to herself. Although these incidents don't happen very often, they do have meaning in character development. Everyone has strong feelings, whether they express them or not. We are introduced to David as the supposedly hotheaded one, but we learn there is a sweet side to him as well. With Maddie this is vice-versa. Still waters run deep, as they say. It is a bit disconcerting that in terms of insights into the characters' respective background or inner personality, in a way we get less about Maddie than we heard about David. There was a lot of wonderful "backstory" work for him in "Knowing Her," "Big Man on Mulberry Street" and elsewhere. Until the time Maddie goes to Chicago, where was that explanation about her? I was always kind of scratching my head about that. I think the notable exception is, "It's a Wonderful Job." (Which, once again, is a downer!--where she's made to look 'wrong,' until the end.) I may be approaching this in the way that people look at novels, not teleplays, but drama is drama. Unless one of the meanings is that people can be mysterious, even to themselves. Now that's something.

His face cracks me up every time and the whole "pale" thing is classic. My friend Linda used to say she knew she liked David "as soon as she saw him shoot that basketball." D: "Now, I'll bet the house that you were a Miss March." M (hissing): "A Miss what?" Right away he's trying to drive her crazy and she just switches into what-did-you-say? mode. They set the tone just right, it was brisk and very believable. What fun.

David: Wanna dance? Maddie: What? David: Dance…you know, dance. You, me, here, now. Maddie: This isn’t a place people…people don’t dance in a place like this. David: C’mere. Maddie: I’m not gonna change my mind. David: I know that. I just wanna get one dance with you, that is all. Maddie: This is weird. David: Weird, yes, but destined to catch on. You’ll see, soon people will be dancing everywhere. Maddie: I don’t think I’ve ever danced in a place like this before. David: It’s like all the big clubs…it’s Together: Who you know. Maddie: Can I ask you something? David: Anything. My life’s an open book. I’ll discuss anything except me and the president. Maddie: Do you really think I’m cold? David: Did I say that? Maddie: Twice. David: I didn’t say that……..How could I say that? You…..cold? I’m burning up over here. Bartender: Your cab is out front waiting for you, ma’am. David: Your cab is out front waiting for you ma’am. Maddie:: You would have told me, wouldn’t you – if you thought I was cold? David: Sure, I would. Maddie: For what it’s worth…dead bodies and all…..I did have fun…..tons of fun. David: See ya later. Maddie: See ya later. David: Yeah, later.
Ohhhh I love it!!! ;D

I can´t remember what I voted! How am I now gonna explain why I voted like I did? Knowing me, I change, but anyway, now I think that the Pilot is a lot different from the other episodes. (particulary compared to the 5th season that I´m really into right now, love it!) They don´t talk as fast as they usually do, and they don´t have any history. Maddie walks into the office, expecting to meet an ordinary man. There are some great scenes while they get aquinted (big word, I don´t know if the spelling is correct), and I love the dancing, and that David keeps taking the watch. Would´ve liked to see when Maddie takes the offer of joining the agency instead of closing it down, though.

Just a question here : when Maddie throws office equipment in David's office, she holds up a calendar that seems to jump in dates from the 21st to the 23rd of the month. Am I completely wrong here or is there some relevance of the number 22?
