Thanks for the commercials Gray! So...you gonna give ol' Agnes a thrill tonight with your avatar?! I'm sure Maddie wouldn't mind...just this once! My very generic question for tonight: What strikes you as the most revealing sign of growth in character for Maddie, David and/or Agnes thus far in the series?

I liked this episode, as it was a nice break from the routine and it gave Ms.Dipesto another ep where she takes the lead (the first being Next Stop Murder...but you guys knew that). This being two episodes in 17 where D&M gave up some of the limelight wasn't so bad...and in both at least they were integral parts of the storyline.
I think in this episode, Maddie finally realizes the importance of Agnes to the entire Blue Moon machinery...kinda like Chloe on 24 to Jack Bauer. Rather than pouncing on Agnes for blowing off the call, Maddie wanted to find out what the cause was for all the gloom...much different than what an earlier, less experienced in the ways of bossdom Maddie would have done.
Dave, having known her for quite some time longer, really does care for Ms. D, and while he loves Maddie's idea to dump the ball tix on Agnes..he wants her to, well, score as well. A happy receptionist is a productive receptionist I always say.

LOL!! Good one, gray!
I know I say this a lot, but boy does Cybill look great in this episode!! Never seen such blue eyes!!
I really like the bantering and overlapping dialogue in this one. Just really sharp writing to the end in my opinion, even if it is a DiPesto episode.
But what I really like is Maddie taking Agnes under her wing. There is the heart of gold we rarely get to see. She takes her home and shares her wardrobe and make-up, perfume, shoes...She really cares about Agnes and wants her to have a nice time. Very sweet!
Kudos to Allyce! What would Blue Moon be without "the lady who answer phones"! ;D

And you are dead on about the baby blues in this ep....my knees were weak I tell you...WEAK after seeing them peepers!

and BTW, didn't Agnes look absolutely gorgeous?! Quite a nice ep, and she did well with Douglas, didn't she? Ok, I come up with my ususal, the quotable quotes: Agnes's rhyme cracks me up: "Blue Moon detective agency, if you're in a trouble, if you're in a jam, don't tell me, I don't give a damn!" A: "It's not a terrible life, but it's not a soon-to-be major motion picture either." D: "UMS - ugly mood swing; a peculiarly feminine disease." (but I like the other meaning better ) D: "It's a chance to fight in public..." (to M about the banquet) D: "Business? What business? Now, the Annual Convention Of Wife Cheaters, that would be good for business!" LMAO!! D: "It'll be boring! The only thing that could liven up this, is a strip search demonstration with you as a volunteer!" M: "Addison!! - Thank you... I think." M: "Being detectives is wwhat we do all day, but it's not what Miss DiPesto does all day. It's not what Miss Dipesto does at all!" D: "Thank the Lord for small favors!" M: "You might be right..." D: Might be? Am be! Definitely am be!" M: "Miss DiPesto met a man at the banquet." D: "A man? Facial hair and everything? That explains the smile." (and I love that wink he gives Agnes!) M: "The smile?" D: "You should try it sometimes. It's a perfect cure for UMS." Agnes: "UMS?" D: "Urgently missing sex!" (and the voice and expression on his face as he says that...!) D: "Come on, Maddie... a man, a woman, a nooner..." And a little gesture absolutely cracked me up: when David and Maddie have their overlapping/sync dialogue in her office ("Were you talking to me?" - "You first!") when David pulls a coin out of his pocket and flips it to figure out who should talk first! ;D

I think this episode deserves a few words as our Agnes did great, better than great, infact great great!
The wilting plant on her desk at the start reflects her down mood so perfectly - followed by the down rhyme and the down slump- she did 'down' great!
Oh poor Agnes when she says 'I hate my name!' and Maddie says 'What, Dipesto?' She replies, looking so forlorn: 'No, Agnes- you don't like Dipesto?!'
Lovely bit of banter from our favourite duo to kick us off and keep us happy- so love the coin toss when they realised that it was no good- they just couldn't not talk over each other. Very funny translations of UMS - I agree with Sandra, I prefer the second interpretation and the look that accompanied it! Naughty Bruce. The moment when he's going on about the strip search has me LMAO - especially when she back tracks, pauses and then says 'thank you ...I think.' Priceless comic timing - good one Cybill! All this followed by David's total desperation to get out of the detective's convention is so funny- 'Are you suggesting sending Dipesto to this convention?' (said with puppy dog eagerness and total relief at getting out of the thing. I've been to teachers' conventions so I know the feeling! :-)) He spoke too fast for me to get one of my favourite lines down but when he delivers that 'nick nack paddy wack if she wants a guy to take her home' line completely encompasses his absolute determination to get out of this event- in any way possible. Of course, then he grabs her hand so tight and with such hope - it reminds me of a little kid asking to go to Disney :-) Classic stuff: simply hilarious.
The old eighties montage rears its head in this one - the dressing up scene is cute and Agnes looks gorgeous in Maddie's 'Money Talks, Maddie Walks' dress. Maddie's reaction echos our thoughts precisely 'Oh Agnes!'
The penultimate scene is great- the sort of chase in the laundry. Although, I can't help thinking I'd have liked to see our M & D do this one.
Some good lines in this too- most already cited by our lovely Sandra - but could also add: 'What's the poop on the prom?' and 'A nooner, a niner...has turned into an all nighter.'
Thanks Agnes
