I watched this episode last night on glorious DVD technology and was noticed that the scene where David and Maddie discuss the fact that Farley Wrye has invited Maddie to dinner has the WHOLE scene included where David offers to wait in the car for 2 or 3 hours and Maddie pouts "you'd do that, for me??!"
Every version I've seen before only has the comments bout the x-ray specs and then cuts much quicker...

You know, I hadn't noticed. I'll have to take care to look next time I watch it. Is there much extra?

There's several lines of dialogue that certainly weren't in the abc1 version of the episodes Gem.. I didn't realise at first, but then I suddenly realised that I'd never heard this dialogue before! I'm trying to remember another episode in which this happened, but I've forgotten..

Actually, I just watched it because I can't wait for the next dvd's to come out. It's Maddie's Turn to Cry where she comes in at the beginning of the episode early in the morning and Sam has made her breakfast. She sits on the stairs and they have a conversation. Back then I knew all the dialogue, and I'm watching the rerun and the scene is longer - she keeps saying things I hadn't heard before. I popped in a tape. Anyhoo....sometimes they recut episodes and reair them without any mention of it. Other shows I've watched have done it several times. It's nice when you're able to catch stuff like that. And it's frustrating when they delete scenes too. Just my two sense.... ~blue moon girl

I thought of another one too. In the video version that I bought of Next Stop Murder they totally missed out the scene at the train station where they are looking for the platform. I didn't realise til I watched the ABC version. I thought it was odd that they'd cut things from the actual release.

Yeah, I noticed that one too Gem, I sat there thinking, I don't remember this! And I had it on video too, so I can't blame abc1 as usual!!
I'll have to watch out for that one Blue Moon Girl, hopefully it wont be too long till we have this on DVD and I can double check!!

I just pulled all my tapes out of storage, and have been watching them tape by tape to see if they're still good. I'm so amazed that they still look wonderful. Guess it paid off to buy top of the line videotapes at the time. My point is...I'll go back through and find where I re-taped that episode and let you all know what the different dialogue is. I know why they recut episodes after they're originally aired - basically they didn't get it right the first time, and can reissue it the networks later. But it still boggles me why sometimes episodes keep getting rehashed. Even movies - there can be many versions.

Sakura_Star1" Hi, My tapes are 17-20 yrs old....I was very anal about taping things. I had to have the best consumer tape there was at the time. Quality was #1 with me. So my tapes have held up wonderfully. There are some glitches. But the vcr I have now plays them without any distortion. It's great. I've only gone through a few tapes, but all the interviews etc. that I taped will be going onto dvd so I'll always have them. ;D ~blue moon girl

I remember when I first found ML. I don't remember the first episode I saw, but remember that I was instantly hooked, and couldn't wait to tape any episode I didn't have. Isn't it fun to finally be seeing the earlier episodes! ;D
