Come on, you know exactly why this scene is on my list....yes...yes...we know exactly why its on your list...and that is exactly why we all love it to! <3 Hazel!another great great job from one of the gang! I agree with FFGG on the above, we don't need many words for this scene! Is this on everyones list so far? LOL Very enjoyable read!

Love your picks, Hazel! We are very much alike, like you said. Especially love that you brought these two scenes up: Symphony in Knocked Flat – Getting Fine. I love how the scene opens on Maddie’s rejected gowns strewn around the room, and then we see her in full princess regalia, checking herself out in the mirror—she’s doing all of this for David! The doorbell rings and we get an all too rare glimpse of Maddie, positively giddy as she rushes for the door. The scene continues with suddenly flirtyshy Maddie greeting be-tuxed and handsome him at the door, and I looooove seeing her taken aback by his sexysmooth. The scene is so laden with desire, it’s indescribable. She’s seeing him in whole new light, and he’s just seeing her, which is more than enough. You got that right! Sam and Dave – Restaurant Fail. I’ve said this before but I truly do believe this is Bruce Willis’ best work, ever. As for David and Maddie, what a fraught, complicated scene. You can't help but feel so much for David in it. "Oh... God, Maddie..." There's a whole mess of stuff going on here, and watching him negotiate this uncharted territory with her, inebriated and with an audience, no less, is fascinating and frightening and compelling and unforgettable. No kidding! We'd have a heck of a time at cocktail hour. We should do that and just invite the whole gang, yes?!?

Thanks so much everybody! I had fun doing it, and I appreciate that you read it and took the time to respond! Bees - Yes, cocktail hour sounds like a blast! FFGG and Rose - Yes, the scene speaks for itself, doesn't it? LOL Goldi - She is beauty personified! Sandra - Thanks for the kind words. Diane - I'm a big fan of that scene and Maddie's relationship with her mom in general. They are graceful in their dance with each other, yet still manage to communicate truths. Thanks again, friends!

I was out of town for a few days and just now was able to catch up with the last posts. So awesome! Great choices, FFGG and Hazel - so much fun to read.
I just wanted to give you all a heads up that I will not be able to post until I get home from work tomorrow evening. I know that most of the posts have been earlier in the day, but that's just not possible for me. Hope you don't mind.

What I love is how everybody is taking even difficult-to-handle scenes and pointing out shining moments. Hazel, you are no exception. Plus, you included the Maddie-Mom scene, which helped land "Every Daughter's Father is A Virgin" the runner-up spot on my Top 6. It warms my heart and gives me goosebumps at the same time, listening to Ginny wax philosophical and finish in a sweet, self-deprecating way.
Bravo, Hazel!

Wonderful Hazel - again this is a stolen five minutes for me (supposed to be writing Year 7 pastoral reports) but couldn't resist coming on here and reading Hazel's pics. Wonderful, brilliant-schmooze lol! ;-) I loved reading your passionate explorations of the scenes - I especially agree with EAS scene - I love what she says, it often keeps me company through Series 5! Also loved your description of the MTTC scene - it's got to be on everyone's list but you found new things to say about it- they were refreshing and brought it back to life for me! Thanks Hazel for brightening my day. xx ;D

I am finally getting my land legs back and want to acknowledge what an amazing job everyone is doing on these scenes. How comforting to see that others have analyzed, scrutinized and fantasized about these scenes like I have for 20+ years. Diane - Such a great start to this wonderful project. After reading yours I questioned if I should even attempt the same scenes since I could not possibly convey their meaning as beautifully as you did. It is interesting to see how your top scenes and top episodes do not really overlap. Mine don't either - which makes this project all the more intriguing. Bees - Such a great, emotionally draining read Love the titles you used and I also love how you took us on a roller coaster ride of emotions. You didn't use the scenes that always made you feel good. Angst is so bittersweet, isn't it? I hate it but I love it. Oh, I guess I'm just abivalent about it. Thank you for pointing out the musical points at the end of Cool Hand Dave II. I got chill bumps when you explained how the music changes from David's tune to Maddie's after he hears that she loves him on the recording. I had a little moment over that revelation. Jpen - As always, such a fun, entertaining read from you. Love the extension of the metaphors you always use. I am always laughing and agreeing wholeheartedly at your connections. I love how you chose the office scene from Blonde on Blonde to profile. How is this one not on my list??? FFGG - Welcome to the Party Pal! Great intro from you. Fantastic, funny writing. Where have you been all our lives? Funny about IAC...M with your mom. This is a weird, irrational quirk of mine but I literally cannot watch that scene with anyone else. The lights must all be out and I must have total silence. So, being a mom of 2 young kids, this is a scene I don't watch as much as the others. It's so personal and special and private to me. I'm afraid watching it in the presence of others would take away from it. But I might make an exception for all of you guys. For you guys? Yes, for you guys Hazel - Ok, I feel like I need to sleep now. Too early in the morning for these crazy emotions. What an awesome read! I watched Knowing Her last night and thought what a great scene that is in the hospital. With her new show, I have been following Dana Delaney in the press and she told a wonderful little Moonlighting story yesterday on The Talk. You can see it here. www.youtube.com/watch?v=MYZDxQQp0GwIt is amazing and wonderful how this one episode in a show so long ago still comes up today. Also, I so love how you mention the car scene in Eek A Spouse. I will forever hold onto Maddie's words of "Only you know and only I know". Even if (God forbid) they didn't end up together in alternate TV universe, this conversation told us that he is the one and only great love of her life. Again, that darn angst. Loving all this! 1987
