I really like how those scenes were done, especially early on in the series.
I was watching a less than memorable French flick (if you've ever watched one, you've probably wondered where the plot was hidden) from 2005 that had a scene with the man and woman talking over each other as they drove, likely shot on a sound stage.
But it was there. And unmistakable tribute to Glenn Gordon Caron. Someone French director watched "Moonlighting!!" Was the show released in France? Or in french? Was fun accusing a foreign director of stealing from an American TV writer.
That scene; it took me back to David and Matty talking at cross purposes and arriving at their point at the same time.

Nice commentary, newmoonfan.
And I think it is great that you give Glenn credit for his mastery of this technique, he certainly was inspired by much that came before him.
If you are looking for some gems, try some Howard Hawks -- especially His Girl Friday and Bringing Up Baby. Also, many Tracy/Hepburn films use the device....
And check out The Lady Eve...one of my faves!
