Hey all! ;D
Thought I'd start things off as I managed to watch this episode yesterday when I had a day off!
I'd forgotten just how much I love the scene where David runs off to steal a client! Wonderful charm and cunning there.
Maddie seems very soft and slightly naive here although the scene in the back alley where David rips her skirt is pure moonlighting magic!
Look forward to everyones comments!

Hi, everyone and thanks, Mulberry! As I've got a visitor tomorrow late morning, I'd like to follow Mulberry. My impression of this rewatch 1) Isn't the prologue very funny? Especially where the old patient is running around with a rolling IV stand, and the young killer is surprisingly spineless! But I think this is a good start toward the whole story. 2) How David and Maddie are starting their detective job? Agree with Mulberry! Maddie is naïve… and she is determined to do things her own way when she disagrees with David, but I like she is full of enthusiasm, sometimes it works for their business very well. David is experienced, and having trouble managing her, it is really sweet of him that he eventually concedes to the demands of her and sticks to her all the time. Who would have thought “plunging into the gunfight”!!! I like to think he already cares about her, but not seriously, because he keeps a little his distance from her in a few scenes. He looks happy when he is called by her (it makes me happy, too). I think he likes being with her very much. Favorite line D: I can’t believe you’re talking to him! He shot-put me across the bar! Favorite scene I love the alley scene, too! David singing, Maddie model walking...absolutely brilliant! I'll be back! And looking foward to all your comments, too!

Hi everyone Marple that prologue is funny. I think the old patient had his hospital gown specially made, otherwise we would have been seeing a lot more of him ;D Mulberry I love the scene with David stealing a client too. He's so cute in that scene. "Beauty and brains, wow", "You do that great" Also I love the scene with Agnes talking about the 80's being their slow season. And yes the alley scene is so great. I really love the whole bar scene too, from David's reaction to everyone staring at Maddie walking in to the conversation with the bartender. So hilarious.

Also wanted to add that I love the hug moment when Maddie realizes they actually have a case. One of the rare times we get to see Maddie really smiling and being sweet. Seems David was a little scared as he is the one that pulls away at the end. Sweet.

My favorite scene is the one in the alley as a well, but what I've found that I like more each time I watch this is Maddie's gung-ho go get 'em attitude. She arrives on the first day of her new job at Blue Moon...her new business...ready to get to work. And though disappointed when she discovers they actually have no clients she forges ahead with David on their first case with a "stolen" client.
She gets a dressing down by David...heehee...and is ready to walk the walk and talk the talk.
That's our Maddie...she can do anything if just given the chance.

Hi, Connie and Jen! Very glad you are here! Connie, I think you nailed it about the lady! Reading your comments I was like “Wow!” Great point of view and really like it! Thanks! ryangie, I love that sweet scene, too! It’s definitely rare in the entire series. And how charming these two look! Especially David lowers his eyes smiling. He is a little scared…I totally get it, thanks!

I have to say I am loving this rewatch thing!
Things I love about this episode:
Maddies go get them attitude her first day. I agree with you all about her being a bit naive in the start of the series. But, I kind of like that. Wonder what the show would have been like if Maddie continued with that attitude threw out the entire show. Man...the entire show would have changed.
Davids tv show ideas! Bus station...Parking lot...Train station....kinda romantic, kinda exotic. I just love the look on his face when she keeps guessing his tv show ideas...or feature film...or broadway show...LOL!
I love Maddies excitment over their first case. The hug is fabulous. I think it made David a bit nervous. I also love how she is all impressed that David had a plan B. "You have a plan b?"
The alley scene...the garage scene....all so great! You really get to see that first spark of chemistry! These are my favorite scenes in this episode! They are just so funny. I would have loved it if later in the season Maddie would have had to take David to a society party....would have loved to see her train him on edict.
Some favorite lines:
"Like your office? Notice the shower massage in the bathroom? Dont thank me now." --- I dont think I ever remember them showering in the office! LOL!
"Penciling you in for a lot of lunches kiddo."
"Felonious assault...felonious with no salt..."
The entire alley scene is one of my favorites...so much stuff in that short bit of time. "You can't go in there with me!" "Do I embarrass you?" "This has nothing to do with embarrassing me, this bar is filled with punks and killers..." "Don't you want me to meet your friends?"
and
"Unbutton that button..." and "There you are..." "There I am alright..." and "Shake your do." and "Put a little motion in the ocean kid."
I agree with you Marple - the bar scene is great to! "I can't believe your talkin' to this guy...didn't you see him shot put me across the bar?"
The X-ray specs!!! I always wondered why he was looking at his hand during this scene. Though he was just checking out his nails. LOL! "You must be wearing a lead dress...I can't see a thing."
"We are in deep do do."
"You would wait in your car all that time??? For me??? --- LOVE how Maddie says that. Who says she didn't like him in the begining...I say she was attracted to him here. For sure.
There are so many great quotes in the garage scene as well: "Maybe we can get a group rate at the cemetery." and the entire part about what a promise is... and "Yo...Madolyn..." (Have I said I love it when he calls her that?) The whole "Meatballs on your speggetti...how bout books...I read left to right...how about sex? Who woulda guessed...I like sex too." "If I get killed I'm never speaking to you again."
So are we going to keep going on the rewatch? I dont know about you ladies...but Im loving it. Next Tuesday (or whenever if your a slacker like me.) Read the Mind...See the Movie. Be there!!!
