Hopefully some people are still on the 2012 Rewatch with me! ;D
This is one of the classic Moonlighting episodes to me. Its fun, exciting and very funny with a decent cast of supporting actors. Miss Dipesto is at her kooky best and manages to fall in love with a murderer!
I've always wondered whether David actually believe his own story about causing the powercut across the East Coast...
I always think train journeys are romantic, but blame Brief Encounter for that. Love that film!
Anyone else got something to add?

Sorry, I'm late...I watched it last night, too. This episode always reminds me of my favorite Agatha Christies “Murder on the Orient Express”, the nonstop train, all the suspects have great motives and David is doing Poirot…he observes the situation and finally gets them together and then points out who did it…I laughed when he said “And it can’t be the butler, because J.B. didn’t have one.” And especially one suspect creates such a strange atmosphere, I think ‘he’ is one of the great murderers in the entire series. I love the whole berth scene, and my take is that this is all David’s plan to keep Maddie with him and not to go on a date. However I don’t think his own story is making up. He looks so innocent and just enjoying talking to her. Amazing scene! not to mention getting caught under the bed!! ;D I especially love Maddie-Agnes women talk. Maddie is honest and nice to Agnes and Agnes genuinely talk to Maddie. Maybe this is my most favorite part of this episode.

A very fun and funny episode.
I too have always thought that once David got wind that Maddie had a date he was determined to keep her from it...or at least bungle part of her plans for the evening.
I really like how they are so sweet to Agnes. It builds the relationship between the three of them and makes the episodes coming up in later seasons mean more.
Who likes Maddie's "up do"? I love the little wispys. She is beautiful in this one....which spurs David on!
"We're moving!" "Do we have to? All my friends are here." Lol! ;D

I wonder if Maddie actually had a date. You know she is usually home in bed alone by 9:30. No way she would admit to not having plans on a Sat. night. If she did have a date he was probably like her date in the pilot lol. Love that guy. The ya-hoo on top of the train at the end is funny and a little out of character for Maddie. But I guess that's what she gets for spending the night with David Don't think the night would've ended with a ya-hoo with plastic surgery dude. I don't really care for the train mystery part of this episode, but there are some great jokes in this one. The bed in the wall scene is hilarious. Agnes "Do you want me to leave?"lol David telling that story is so funny. Mul I wondered too whether he actually believes he caused the blackout. Maybe he just thought he was being charming. He really tries putting the moves on Maddie in this one with the bed, lowering the lights, closing the curtains. And there is a scene outside the compartment where he brushes the hair out of her face. Cute. Bees I guess David liked her hair like that too Maddie seems to get upset at the train station when David checks out a woman walking by. Anyone else notice that? I don't think David is the only one who gets a little jealous. Miss Dipesto is so cute in this episode. "My name is Agnes but my friends call me Miss Dipesto." "Love is hard." Marple I love the Maddie Agnes scenes too. Maddie does have a sweet side doesn't she.

Great comments! I agree that Maddie's date would be like the one in the pilot, dull but a fine time. No real fun.. ;D
