I just finished this one and thought I'd go ahead and post some comments as I may be away from the computer for a couple of days. The opening is such a great start to the season. It's just a glimpse of all the great banter we're in for this season. If you hadn't already fallen in love with David Addison by now, how could you not in this episode. The bar scene with If Only You Knew playing is so sad. Poor poor David. And I think he brought Maddie along to show off a little in front of his brother and boy did it backfire. I have to say, I'm not sure why Maddie would like Richie. Just so does not seem like her type. I always think it's strange that later at Maddie's house that they're playing a trivia game. Maddie just doesn't seem the board game type lol. It's such a sweet moment between David and Maddie at the end when Maddie says she'd leave Richie at the terminal. This was a great start to season 2. Looking forward to reading everyone's comments. Oh and favorite quote: David: "Maddie Maddie Maddie you're losing your grip and I haven't even had a chance to sample it yet." ;D

Great start!! I've always thought that Maddie was mostly impressed by Richie's money. I mean he is an attractive and sweet man but he is also a bit of an idiot! The whole board game thing IS odd, I agree. Maddie looks SO bored right up until David appears. And yes, I had fallen in love with David Addison by this episode... Great great episode Mul x

Thanks, ryangie and Mulberry, enjoyed your comments! I like Richie’s character as David’s older brother. Their sibling relationship feels real and they have chemistry. I also like how Maddie looks at these brothers, she is not only curious but has a warm heart to them. I’ve never thought she is attracted to Richie. Although she denies she is tired of him, I think it is close and she is aware of David’s affection for her, this is very interesting. And what I love the most in this episode is David, ryangie, I have already fallen in love with him, too! It’s clear he loves Maddie, he put her happiness above his, sacrificing himself. Love the bar scene, it wrings my heart though.

Marple you're right. She does seem to be aware of David's affection toward her. She seems to expect him to be jealous here and also does in The Next Murder You and gets a little upset when he denies it ;D

Thanks, ryangie. And it is also interesting (or disappointing?) that David denies he loves Maddie at least on the surface. Strict business partner, and when he gets hugged by Maddie, he is trying to be calm…Oh, David you are missing a chance!
One more thing I like about this episode is how they dealt with money. Money is important but it sometimes changes people badly. We see it in crime a lot. Maddie and David need money, Navarone sticks his dirty money and Richie is easily affected by the other’s money. And I love how David and Maddie help Richie, especially where David throws away the money from the mall balcony, and Maddie follows him! I was impressed with this conclusion.

I think David didn't want to show his feelings for Maddie because he was afraid of being rejected by her. He wasn't sure he was her type at this point and was testing the waters, thus the innuendos and the flirting.
Maddie on the other hand, knows that David has a crush on her but doesn't know how deep his feelings are for her. So she flirts with Richie, maybe to see how David really feels and if he gets jealous.
