Hello
Yes I know I'm early, but I watched two in a row so thought I'd put in a few comments. ;D
First and foremost, the accent that Alexandra Johnson is doing is NOT Irish. Its an appalling accent that roams all over the place from English, midatlantic, and slight hints of Northern and Southern Irish. I'm British and as such I've met many real Irish people, with differing accents, and none of them sound like this. The accent Bruce Willis does in this episode very briefly sounds far more convincing. You may have guessed I'm allowing this to be an obsessive notion but for those who have never heard a real Irish person, please look up Dara Ó Briain, Ardal O'Hanlon or Bob Geldof on Youtube or other websites to listen to a real Irish accent.
There are some lovely moments between David and Maddie in this episode, and Kathleen is a sweet character.
Not my favourite episode, although even with the awful accent, this is still more fun than most Season 4 episodes...

Thank you Mulberry for the start and interesting infomation about the Irish accent! I have no idea about Irish accent, but know accent is very important for English and my teacher always corrects me. I haven't watched this episode yet but will be catching up as soon as possible! Have a great Thanksgiving weekend!

I wouldn't worry too much about your accent Marple!! I'm always so impressed when anyone can speak English when its not their first language. My French is not that good, and I can't speak any other language at all. Its just when a professional actor whose first language is English tries to do an English or Irish accent (or an American one) and its so bad that it doesn't even sound right, its just awful! I love Dick Van Dyke, but his English accent in Mary Poppins is so bad its hilarious! But he is FAR better than the actress in Somewhere under the rainbow.

Thanks Mulberry for your sweet comments! I remember I loved Mary Poppins so much when I was little. Yes, Dick Van Dyke was one of my favorite actors at the time and your comments have made me want to watch the movie again! I finally re-watched this episode, which I haven’t watched many times before. The girl and the conclusion of the case are a little strange, but anyway this is a fairytale episode and I enjoyed the banter between D&M the most. Although they argue, they look cozy, maybe too cozy, I suppose. They seem to keep a little distance from each other. But I honestly like looking at them like this, as their precious quiet period before the storm. I love how they make eye contact, sometimes both smiling, trying to read the other and satisfied with their success. They are so sweet and David and Maddie are really good looking!

I like this one more each time I watch it.
Despite the horrible accent, I agree with Marple. There is some magic going on between David and Maddie for sure. What I like though is that another little layer is revealed about the two of them; both as individuals and as two people in a developing relationship. In fact, it has occurred to me that this whole season is like peeling or slicing an onion...layer after layer of little tidbits that make up who David and Maddie are and what they are to each other by the end of the show.
Here, David gets Maddie to consider the possibility that pots of gold could be hidden under rainbows...of believing in something because it seems right...or fun...or good. And Maddie gets a peek at David's heart...and she likes what she sees.

This was never one of my favorite episodes, but I have to say I found myself laughing a lot through this one this time. Always loved the Diana Ross line ;D and "nakes have staples in them" lol. I have to say I was cracking up too at the Irish(ok maybe not so Irish) woman's lines about devil coming to take your soul. Don't know if that was supposed to be funny, but I sure was laughing. Maybe it was her accent lol. There were some sweet moments between David and Maddie in this one too. It was sweet that they were protective of Kathleen.
