They are finally here! I have been waiting for this day ever since the DVD format was created, back when DiVX was a minor threat.
Now finally, DiVX is gone and Moonlighting is here! I'll be stopping by my local BestBuy today to pick up my set and will post my reviews later on.
Woo Hoo! DVD doesn't get any better than this!

Well on my way through my set - I never had all the episodes on video so there are a few I haven't seen since 1986! It's the best set I've bought in ages. My only two complaints are - what happened to the deleted scenes and gag reel? Was this made up? If they are there as an Easter egg, I can't find them. Secondly, what is going on with the music on The Lady With The Iron Mask? I love this episode, but all the incidental music has been changed, and sadly not for the better. The William Tell overture is gone, unbelievably! I know I shouldn't complain when the quality of all the rest is so high, but every time I will watch this and think "The old music was much better!" One VHS copy to hang on to, methinks!

Why did they mess with the music on the episode, "The Lady in the Iron Veil"? It's not the same, I'd swear it isn't anybody else with me here? It sucks!!!
Also, is it just me or weren't the Dr. Suess-ish rhyme bloopers at the end of the same episode it was in, "The Murder is in the Mail"? Or are they on the Rona Barrett episode. My tapes have been in storage for too long, so maybe I'll have to dig them out and check!

The bloopers appear in the Rona Barrett episode The Straight Poop in season 3 as you suspected. I too am disappointed that the intro instumental music and the chase scene music in Lady In the Iron Mask were changed. The William Tell Overture was hilarious in that chase scene and the replacement tune just doesn't do the same for me. I wish I could tell you why these two songs were different, but I don't have an answer for you.

What a shame about the William Tell Overture in Lady in The Iron Mask! That is such a classic scene, mostly due to that. We were lucky here in the UK - they released the pilot on dvd along with The Lady In The Iron Mask and A Womb with a View, so I already have it on dvd. I'm not sure if the US release was the same.

Does anybody know if the 2001 region 2 dvd definitely has the original score for The Lady In The Iron Mask? If so I will pick it up cheap! (Having a Womb With a View will be a great bonus). Tried to play my dvd (perfect picture) and video (right sound) of this episode together but the dvd runs subtly faster so goes out of synch after a couple of minutes! (Does this account for all the rumblings about running times and syndicated cuts etc, etc, etc ..?)

I'm fairly sure it does - I don't have my copy to hand as I have given it to a friend to watch, but I'm pretty sure it had the original music. It's worth getting anyway as you can pick it up so cheap. I think it's £5.99 at Play and they deliver in 3 days. Love Gem

Well I like this thread cos it's Season 1 & 2 - aren't they just great?! Don't want any of that Season 3 rubbish. ;D Anyway, just noticed (after nearly a year of avid viewing) that the episodes on the SEASON 1 & 2 DVDS have different opening sequences which I'm guessing depended on how much time was available/needed to be filled? Sometimes it starts with a close-up of the sky and then other times it starts with the word Moonlighting across the screen. Am I really really slow not to have noticed this before? Don't ya all shout "YES!" at me like that, we don't all have nice new DVDs to show off about (sticks nose in air and looks other way).

Love Gem I have purchased the very same DVD that you say that have from amazon in UK and still the music on that episode is altered as well as in the US box set.
