One of my favourite all time Moonlighting moments is when 'This old heart of mine' is playing & David is moving in on Gillian. I love the bit where he says 'come here'. It's a shame it wasn't Maddie he was with but every time I hear the song I get goose bumps. Anyone else feel the same?

I've always felt that way abou that line as well... and the way he delivers it.. WOW! I'm actually not one of those fans who finds David/Bruce particularly attractive, but when I watch this scene I get a sense of what everyone is so ga-ga over.

Absolutely, Helen! Love that scene and like you I wish it was Maddie! As for that song it is great, great! (For further discussion of the song check out the Analysing Why the Music was So Important thread from Music from the Episodes) I always feel that David is laying his heart on the line when he says "Come here." But then again he always wears his heart on his sleeve! Just his luck to work with someone who keeps hers locked away safely!!

I've always loved this scene.......and the delivery of the line is exquisite...but don't you think it is more like c'mere? It is one of the phrases that David says during the run of the show that makes the hairs stand up on the back of my neck.......mmmmmm. The word/words sure look sweet hanging on his lips.
Anybody remember another time that David says c'mere?

I think most memorably David says "C'mere" in Maddie's Turn to Cry. As they are sitting on the chest and she is crying. She says something like "I can't believe you're going to let me go through this by myself." He says "C'mere," as he reaches over and pulls her to him. This is one of the sweetest moments in the episode.
I agree Diane - it is a hairs standing up on the back of the neck moment!

I'm glad you share my opinion on this & yes it is more of a c'mere. In fact I have watched this part so much my VHS goes fuzzy so I can't watch it properly! We don't have ML on DVD in the UK yet. I will have to check if my DVD player is multi region so I can buy from Amazon.
Maddie's Turn to Cry is another of my favourite episodes & I like it when they're sat on the chest chatting & he looks down at her shoes & says 'sneakers for sneakin', I like that'
This is the first thread I've created & I'm glad people have read & commented.
Looking forward to sharing my views with you all on other episodes

I totally agree with you, and love the song. When David says "C'mere" or Maddie says "You smell awful" you know there's a great scene coming up.

OMG i love the C'mere too! Even though it's with Gillian i love the way David acts in the scene with her. Yes i wish it was with Maddie too LOL David definitely knows how to say the right thing and how to say it. SIGH Also the best of the best is in MTTC with the C'mere while they are on the chest when he goes to hold her Double SIGH LOL

So true. No one says "C-mere" like David- that voice, that look, OMG. Without going back to check, I think that David might say "C-mere" to Maddie in the pilot during the scene in the bar when he asks her to dance. I guess I'll just have to watch it to verify!!

Just re-watching The Straight Poop. There is the famous garage scene from Witness. In this scene Maddie says, "C'mere." It's every bit as powerful as when David says it!

I think its fantastic that we all can name the times when David says c'mere..in that wonderful way he does. Kinda makes me think that we've all used the rewind button a couple of times on these scenes?! ;D Diane is so right, deffo a hair standing up on back of neck moment. I find David/Bruce has that effect on me quite a lot... Wowser! Mul

Just found one more. It's in IACM when Maddie goes into her office and David is sitting in her chair waiting for her. As Maddie turns to flee the office, David jumps up to chase her and says his now famous "C'mere". It's not quite the same as the others since it's not face to face and is said in a different tone of voice, but I'll take a "C'mere" from David Addison anyway I can get it!
