I always preferred "It's a Wonderful Job." Not that "Twas..." isn't sweet. But that's just me.

I always preferred "It's a Wonderful Job." Not that "Twas..." isn't sweet. But that's just me. For some reason, I always liked It's a Wonderful Job better too. Although I think both are good. I still haven't watched Twas yet on dvd. I'm trying to wait until the holiday season. It's the only one I haven't watched and I'm getting ancy Kara

Just watched this episode last night (I know, it's September) and I love the bit at the end where the snow falls on D&M - it seems (like we were talking in another thread) that it's Bruce and Cybill here, rather than David and Maddie. Especially when Bruce laughs just as the snow starts and he kisses Cybill. Very natural and cute...

If memory serves, listening to the commentary - they finished shooting this on Sunday or Monday and it had to air on Tuesday night of course. Everyone was just glad it was over, and they could finally go on holiday vacation. And I think Jay Daniel said that they just announced to everyone to meet on the stage, they removed the hallway, and it was kind of an impromtu sing-along. It was such a sweet, and unheard of way to end a show. Really how many shows did that, or do that now. And yes, it did look like they were out of character for the mistletoe kiss. And definately the one at the end too. And of course, it was cool to see all the people behind the scenes - Glenn and Jay etc. Ok, I'm being way too wordy tonight. Ha!!!

I love their kisses at the end also seems more like Bruce and Cybill than Maddie and David like everyone has said. Love trhe beginning scenes with them with Santas hotline and also their talk in the car about Maddie having a baby. wish that could of happened. Alos watched It's A Wonderful Job last night. Great Xmas episode also. The kiss at the end -SIGH!

I watched this episode the other night too (hence the wallpaper). It's such a sweet episode. You've just got to love that conversation in the car.
'that's not the sort of help I need'!!
I forget about that one because I haven't seen this episode that many times. It doesn't seem right to watch it at any other time of the year.
I might go and watch It's a Wonderful Job again too. I really love that episode. I might make another Christmas wallpaper from it, in fact.
I took my form class to a Christmas carol concert last week and we sang The hymn The First Noel, which made me thing of this episode. The end is so cute!!
Love Gem

I loved this episode too. My favorites scenes. "Santa's hot line" scene. Too funny. David have the best lines in the show. The scene when they are having another disagrement about turn the baby's mother to the police and they start to talk together. "Stop David ! I hate you!" I never laugh so much in a scene. The car scene when David says Maddie would be a great mom. The toys fight scene. Its just... priceless !!! And the end of course. Btw, I did clip some scenes of this episode. Quick question about something David says to Maddie in the car in this one- what did he mean when he said Maddie wouldn't want to give Agnes another night of joy with the baby and Maddie commented something like Why would i do that and David gives her this look and she says he's wrong. What did that exchange mean?

I think both Christmas episodes are a must for this time and every time ;D That last kiss and the song are the best ending. I agree, those were Bruce and Cybill kissing, and maybe it wasn't in the script, it seems spontaneous.

I always took this as David (yet again) reading Maddie right and knowing that she is always so 'by the book' that she would want to do the right i.e. legal thing, even if it meant hurting Agnes in the process. Maddie is so intent on following procedure she doesn't stop to think that it wouldn't really matter if she let Agnes have the baby for one more night, she just wants to hand the baby over to the authorities. This attitude is summed up beautifully by David in Sam & Dave where he says "Notice we didn't start havin' any fun until we ditched her. ...Shoes always got to match the bag, David".
