Yeah, we all know in retrospect that it was a mistake for David to take this case, but when he initially made the decision to go for it, were you with him?
I wasn't. I thought it wasn't too cool to go against Maddie's wishes the way he did. I know, David does what he feels is right, but man, he could've gotten the agency into a world of trouble. It also felt like he was going ahead with it to show Maddie she couldn't control him. These two were constantly in a power struggle, both above and below the surface, and I think David's decision here was another blow in that battle.

I was with Maddie on this one. You're right, he was totally doing it because she didn't want him to, to prove a point to her.
I think I can see both sides of the argument, but I'd be with Maddie on this one. I don't think it's down to us to decide between life and death. Oh, but this is getting deep, let's all just think about David in those boxers for a moment!!

Agree with you both here, he was wrong, and he eventually worked out that he was wrong too.
Wow Gem, I knew someone would bring up those boxers!!! Cute! Let me think about that for a while.....mmmm

Sorry, didn't mean to lower the tone on such a serious thread! Ok, ok, I did. I'm just shallow. Love Gem

Boy, this is a tough call as to who is correct and who is wrong. However, the client was not asking for the agency to commit euthanasia...just to witness it. Unfortunately, it turns out the client was trying to commit insurance fraud...and I suppose since he confessed that to David and Maddie when he came in there, then they and the agency would be accessory to a crime. In that case, Maddie is correct, they should not take the case.
But, David truly wanted to help the man. He felt the client desperately needed their help, and David felt sympathy for the man and wanted to help him. That is why he said he would do it himself, not as part of the agency.
So I can see both sides here and each is right in their own way.

Also I can understand why he would want to help a man that has lived a long life and is suffering...animals will be put down in a nice way but we can't have the same thing for human beings and they always think that prolonging life by putting someone on machines to keep him/her alive is the right thing to do. In most cases it's not and it's more of a 'pain' to the patient and to the loved ones than anything else...and I'm speaking from personal experience so if we had a legal way to end life peacefully I would always vote for it also a reason why I put that in my testament, I don't want to be put on machines if there is no way for the doctors to get me back into this life and no talk about god ending our life is going to stop me from doing that either...

Just finished watching this episode and wow! Very powerful.
I agree David might have done it as a power struggle. And it could be bad for the agency. However, as a human, I think David wanting to do it isn't that bad. But, well...

I was surprised that David would agree with suicide/assisted suicide, given that he is the religious one. And Maddie who doesn't believe at least wouldn't have theological reasons against it.
It's a pity that they didn't talk about that aspect of it:(.
