Hi All, It's a little quiet around here....where'd everyone go??? Oh lookee....it's a new thread- re-hashing old ones. Recently, some of us have been posting our favorite lines/scenes etc. of our favorite duo. But I was thinking of some of my favorite romantic/emotional scenes between them. Some that are funny, but very emotional - simmering just below the surface - raw - 'real'. Here are some that spring to mind.... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Pilot - ~the dance in the bar. The way he holds her and buries his nose in her hair. The way they say goodbye to each other. Money Talks, Maddie Walks- ~when they're sitting on the floor together. He leans forward to kiss her, she rebuffs him, and he kisses her hand so tenderly. Brother Can You Spare a Blonde- ~when Maddie hugs him for 'finding the money in the other bank account'. ~in the car, when Maddie says she 'likes Richie'. ~David watching 'the dance'. ~the final scene when he asks her to 'leave him alone'. Dream Sequence - ....ok I know it's not technically 'them', but- ~when he backs her up against the wall. (yee-ouch!) Portrait of Maddie ~the final scene in the car. "Now what about those poor slobs?" (Wow!) Witness For The Execution - ~the parking garage kiss ~the first scene in her bedroom Every Father's Daughter.... ~the Blue Moon doorway (in shadow) Big Man on Mulberry Street- ~Maddie's hotel room confession ~the way he blows a kiss at her while she's asleep. ***note-he does this a lot to her. I love the way he shows his affection for her by doing this.) ~the ride back on the plane Symphony in Knocked Flat- ~the sexual tension in the fine/fun evening banter ~how excited she is when the doorbell rings while she's getting ready ~the scene at her front door. (woohoo) ~the scene in the limo Next Stop Murder- ~(the scene I've been ranting about lately.) The dining car conversation about the romantic train trip. The Murder's in the Mail- (right??) ~the final scene where she's says she's glad that he's her partner. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ That's all I can coherantly come up with right now. It's late and time for bed. I'm so tired the scenes are so jumbled up in my head. Nighty night.... ~blue moon girl

Cool thread Kara! I'm going to have a thing about this one.
Though I'm pretty sure that the last one you posted ('I'm glad you're my partner, partner') was from The Lady In The Iron Mask. They have that row where she says that she'd be better off without him and then comes back at the end to say sorry. Very cute.

Here's a couple of good scenes that I can come up with at the moment, I'll jump to Seasons 4 & 5 (no, don't run away people!) for these tho:
Tracks Of my Tears - the "body heat" scene, I know it's a dream, but a very nice dream if you ask me. Steaming hot!
Between A Yuk and A Hard Place - the elevator scene, where they both finally show their feelings. So emotional.
Shirts and Skins - I like it when Maddie realises that David sacrificed his own legal case to help hers in this one. A brief tender moment when Maddie says : "I want you to be my partner........please" Albeit too brief though IMO, like a lot of this season!
Maddie Hayes Got Married - "Will you two just kiss already!" followed by....the kiss! Yay!!
A Womb With A View - the emotional scene at the very end in the hospital, David assuring Maddie she will not be alone and that he will be right there with her. Oh the tears....

Very cool scenes, ya'll. Keep it up!! ;D Thanks Gem, I knew I had the ep wrong. I was just a tad sleep deprived.....btw, my real name is Anne Marie. I've got another one....now that I've had time to stay awake all night thinking about 'em. Ha!!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Next Murder You Hear- ~the night scene in the car where Maddie says David is jealous of Paul McCain. Oooo....does he get upset. "Hey look lady!! For me to be jealous, he'd have to have something I want!! Which he doesn't!!" (cue: thunder & rain!!) Ha! I just love when shows use effects to amplify drama.... My Fair David- ~the scene is the car when he calls her 'sweetheart' (can't remember right now the exact context. But I do remember when I was listening to the commentary. BW was like, Oooo...I called her sweetheart. Hahaha ) ~blue moon girlhope everyone state-side is having a nice holiday weekend

Here's another not listed snd i'm so surprized: The Trunk scene in David's apt. at the end of Maddie's Turn To Cry. The talk and the kiss is so sweet and loving. Someone mentioned how David blows Maddie a kiss in Big Man On Mulberry Street while she is asleep , He also does this while she is awake after he tells her about his marriage before he leaves her room and it's true he does do this many times during the series. I always loved it! Makes me weak Definately showed how muched he cared / loved her i think.

oooh those were all great ones. Some other ones I can think of are:
The Son Also Rises, the first scene we see them back together was great and Maddie saying she missed him. The next scene where he asks her if she is free to go with him to meet his father's future wife is great.
Portrait of Maddie- love the scene where Maddie trips and David catches her. Also love his facial expressions while he's watching her slither across the room.
Atlas Belched- loved the scene where Maddie asks David to hire her.

These are all wonderful guys. Isn't it great to 'study' these two characters. They're so deep - excellent writing and acting. When I wrote this thread originally, I was thinking before the 'big bang' - you know the build up, the tension, etc. But that's what I had in mind. Of course, I didn't say that....so run with it!!! ;~) I've got to go back and re-watch season three now. I really love picking these characters apart. They have so many layers. Feels like I'm back in film school. So keep 'em comin'....more scenes from moi soon. Unless you guys beat me to 'em. ~blue moon girl

It's been so long since I've seen Seasons 3 on up, so I cannot comment on them (yet).
A lot of the moments the rest of you mention would also be on my list. Another one that isn't exactly the most "romantic" scene (more mischievious and smarmy) was in "Atlas Belched" where Maddie is fixing David breakfast and David makes the comment about the "squaw" fixing meal for her "brave." He seems pleased that she's fixing him breakfast like that. And then of course he has to make several oh-so-(not) subtle innuendoes (about sausage and eggs, etc. etc.).

I've always liked the part, in the Pilot, when M and D are in the car after he says he's not sure there is a connection and that he's just grasping at straws. Then, Maddie grabs his hand and says, "keep grasping." I thought it was sweet.

Thanks, bluemoongirl! I had fun making that avatar. I admire everyone else's Moonlighting avatars, so I thought I'd try to come up with one of my own!

Very cool scenes, ya'll. Keep it up!! ;D Thanks Gem, I knew I had the ep wrong. I was just a tad sleep deprived.....btw, my real name is Anne Marie. I'm so sorry! I'm very easily confused! I don't think I can think of any more! The one from Lady In The Iron Mask is one of my favourites. Maddie's pretty good at saying sorry, though I wouldn't have thought it. She can wrap him round her little finger. BTW, Elvira, I don't see your avatar. Love Gem

Okay, now I know some may not see this as a qualifier because the two in question are not in the scene together, but I have to pick the last scene of "Sam and Dave." Sam is asleep, Maddie is still awake. And she's staring into space. You know what that means. She's done that at a few key moments in the past over the shows, and it's always the same reference, although it took me a while to catch on. I used to watch the show with my brother. The first time I saw that episode, I kind of missed the point. As the credits rolled, I said something like, "That's funny, I wonder what she--" Then my brother elbowed me and said, "She's thinking about Dave." Oh. I get it. This was a real wake-up call for me that there was as much turbulence going on for Maddie as there was for David. Only the latter was much more on-the-sleeve about it, and the former, fighting to keep it hidden...
