Okay, now I know some may not see this as a qualifier because the two in question are not in the scene together, but I have to pick the last scene of "Sam and Dave." Sam is asleep, Maddie is still awake. And she's staring into space. You know what that means. She's done that at a few key moments in the past over the shows, and it's always the same reference, although it took me a while to catch on. I used to watch the show with my brother. The first time I saw that episode, I kind of missed the point. As the credits rolled, I said something like, "That's funny, I wonder what she--" Then my brother elbowed me and said, "She's thinking about Dave." Oh. I get it. This was a real wake-up call for me that there was as much turbulence going on for Maddie as there was for David. Only the latter was much more on-the-sleeve about it, and the former, fighting to keep it hidden... Yes, we could start whole new threads on each of them - about what they were truly thinking when they were having their quiet moments alone. You know they are thinking of the other - but exactly what were they thinking. Case in point - Sam and Dave....the record is scratching....Sam is sleeping....Maddie is starring. I always got it, but being older now, and watching these scenes. It makes ya wonder - is she thinking - why did I do this, I really love David. David is a yutz, but there's just something undeniable about him. Was it just the extreme sexual tension that was still drawing her to him that she gave in immediately to Sam. Whatever Cybill used for her internal motivation/monologue during these scenes - you really knew that Maddie was struggling horribly with the situation. David was too, but chose more to lash out verbally and physically towards Sam. He tried so hard to tell her at the restaurant. But then it went all down hill from there. Then it all came out in I'm Curious Maddie. Her confession to "Sam" in the bedroom. We finally learned all that she had been feeling. Then....the heated banter between D&M. They were still trying to deny it until the very last slap. Talk about your volitile love affairs. And then we're back to the 'what-if' scenarios....hmmm ~blue moon girl

Ok I know I allready mentioned this one quickly before....but in rewatching it again today. Wow! I just love this scene. Money Talks....Maddie Walks They're sitting on the floor and he turns around to face her. I just have to quote this dialogue. "Speakin' of lunch. What do you say, you and me stick around and cook this town up for a couple days." "I don't know. After all the things I did. All the things I said. I still can't believe you flew all the way down here." (the way he changes his voice - such a seduction) "Well, that me. That's my way. That's my nature. Old...." (he leans in - she pushes him away ever so slightly, and he kisses her hand) "....unbelievable Addison." "Addison - I think we just better take the red-eye back home." They're so giddy from winning and drinking. Their guards are down. He was definately trying to seduce her. Oh, this is such a sigh moment. ~blue moon girl

I also love the scene in Blonde on Blonde when David is trying to get Maddie to tell him what's wrong. He is so obviously concerned about her. Love the sound of his voice when he kneels in front of her on the couch and says something like "If somethings bothering you or causing you pain, I def. want to know about it." Great acting on both their parts here.

Has anyone mentioned And The Flesh was Made Word? There's that scene on the bridge after the chase scene and then a really cute scene in Maddie's office when David's arranging lamaze classes.

From Read The Mind...See The Movie I love the "No but I believe in you" moment, a "sigh" moment for me definitely, but then David being David covers up quickly by saying he has no idea what he means. Love the flirtatious moments where David jokes but we all know what he is thinking.

At the end of "Blonde on Blonde," as David walks up to Maddie's house, he turns to pick flowers off the lawn (then continues to the door).
He just has the happiest look on his face.

I love the scene in Atlas Belched when Maddie asks David to hire her. I like it where she is going on and on about why he should hire her and he says "you're hired" The look on her face when she says "I am?" That scene is so sweet. I also love the way David looks so happy and that little laugh he does So sweet

I think my favorite scene is in Maddie's turn to Cry, and they are both sitting on the box. And Maddies says "I can't believe your going to sit here and watch me go through this by myself." And then he puts his arm around her. And she just leans into him. To me that's even more romantic than the kiss.. which is right after.

I believe this is from one early in the second season. The two of them pull up to a building where the culprit is supposed to be. David gets ready to run in. Maddie wants to go too, but David says something about it being too dangerous, or to that effect, and then blurts out-- " If anything ever happened to you, I'd--" He stammers, quickly mutters something else and heads off for the danger.

One of the best emotional scenes between them is in "To Heiress Human." They are in Maddie's office and she, feeling overwhelmed, is trying to get him to pretend the previous day's events didn't happen. David is furious: "Lady, we did it. Very well, I might add, over and over again..." He was for once perfectly happy, and he can't understand why she is pushing him away.
