Posting in another thread about what you'd like to see in the next dvd releases gave me this idea... "What are your favorite scenes from Moonlighting that use popular music?" Several come to mind right now- "Brother Can You Spare a Blonde" - -when Richard Addison finds the briefcase of money under the hood of his car. "For the Love of Money" is used so perfectly in this scene. -Richard and Maddie dance in the bar while David watches. The song "If" by Patti LaBelle. Seeing Maddie become smitten with Richard while David's heart is breaking at the same time. So early on in the show. All of us "shippers" out there were gonners. "Every Father's Daughter is a Virgin" -David tails Maddie's father. "Papa Was a Rolling Stone" juxtaposed to "Love is a Many Splendored Thing". What a combination! "My Fair David" -"Limbo Rock" ~nuff said. "In God We Strongly Suspect" -Maddie's birthday song surprize. "It's Your Birthday" (?) followed up with the morgue reprise. Makes me grin everytime. ;D "Camille" The Camille Brand theme song - "Devil with the Blue Dress On". Well, she was wearing a blue dress in the opening scene - think that had anything to do with the song choice? So what are some of your favorites from 1st & 2nd season??

good topic! From the pilot, the dancing scene, Since I Fell For you. From Knowing Her, This Old Heart of Mine. From The Next Murder You Hear, Ooo Baby Baby and David singing Respect. And David singing and playing the harmonica to My Girl in The Murder's in the Mail.

Cool thread! Music is such a great feature in the show and they use it so well.
My absolute favourite is the Isley Brothers This Old Heart of Mine in Knowing Her. I know it's David with another woman, but I love this song.
I also love Oooh Baby Baby in The Next Murder You Hear. And like you said, Devil in a Blue Dress is great in Camille.
I think they are my favourites, I can't think of any you didn't mention. Although, I know it's in season 3, but I love the use of I've Been Waiting For a Girl like you in the episode The Man Who Cried Wife. It really reflects the intensity of the episode and though it's a bit dated, I think it's perfect for the scene.
