On a scale from 1-10, what do you give "The Man Who Cried Wife"?

I give it an 8. I remember watching this one over and over as a kid. I loved the looks from D and M when she was "just in the neighborhood." The end and when she slaps him are also great. Oh, and the whole spontaneity talk is fab too.

I give this one an 8 as well. The Maddie and David scenes are fantastic but I thought the beginning scene was a bit long.

I loved the discussions about sponatneity and how David manages to get Maddie so furious that she slaps him, somethinh she would have never thought of being capable to do. And of course the hot kisses at the end. When I first watched it age 15 I didn´t get it in the beginning that it was only another dream sequence. But hey, rather a dream sequence than no kiss at all.

It's a 9 for me too! It has a cabin in the woods, some great arguments, making up and making out. ;D But something I thought about: how long do you think Maddie had that check in her dress? After David put it there ;D they went to the funeral afterparty (I'm not English, I don't know what it's called! ), and there couldn't have been any time or place to do remove it there. Well, anyway.. just a thought.

I give this one a 9 too for all the reasons that everyone else has already said. I especially love the kiss at the end!! (By the way Jkalen, I never wondered about the cheque before but now... ) Also btw the party after a funeral is called a wake. Did anyone else ever notice that the guy that Melissa was having a relationship with was the bad guy from Kindergarten Cop?

Actually the wake is before a funeral and after the funeral is called a repasse.

I rated 9, just because the beggining was sooooo long. I love that argument and slap. That was amazing. I didn't think Maddie could do something like that. And that argument in car, when she grabbed David's tie through the car window. And of course, whole that discussion about spontaineity (I think I didn't spell it correct). Edit post: I've went to bend and thought about this episode (silly me), and I've just remembered the scene when Maddie congratuled her employee (I also think this is not spelled correct) on his wedding, and when David put his head.. well in very private area I'm still laughing because of Maddie's face

A REALLY nice episode; good case plot, the dilemma of being ethically correct (Maddie) vs being a responsive professional for a client (David), spontaneity (lack of?) and two kisses at the end And not forgetting of course the scene with David "admiring" Maddie's "lower end" ;D A 9+.

I guess I’m the ‘odd fan out’ here because I only voted 7 -and it could have been less. I didn’t care for the case that much. And am I the only one that thought David was 92% wrong in this contest of wills? Spontaneity is fine sometimes but Maddie was right. It’s best most of the time to think about things rationally and then decide. It was ridiculous that McGillicuddy met a woman on Friday and married her on Saturday. I don't understand why David disagreed completely and never gave an inch of common sense about it. I know Dave's an informal, tres casual kind of guy - but come on. She also wasn’t wrong about not wanting to take an admitted murderer’s case. And whether he agreed or not, since David works for her, he was waayy out of line to take on the case during company time and then be all smug about it when Maddie confronted him. And the ultimate worse thing was his below-the-belt blow about her being lucky she looked good because she wasn’t much on the inside – or something like that. I don’t advocate violence but David deserved that slap. He really did. When Maddie immediately apologized he came at her with the ol’ spontaneity argument like he scored a point. Please. Okay, she hit him and the husband hit the wife. That’s where the similarity that’s supposed to prove David’s point ends. It wasn’t spontaneous when Mr. Husband took his wife’s body into the woods, dug a hole, put the body in it, covered it up again and pretended to the police that she was missing - with apparently nooo intention of ever confessing. Ummm, I don’t know…that sounds like he thought things through and made a decision, David. I just think the resolution in this episode was faulty. Maddie is supposed to be in the wrong and so she’s the one who acquiesces to David’s ‘wisdom.’ That was just way off. It should have been a mutual meeting half-way at least. I mean, excuse me, David should have taken back and apologized for that one very mean thing he said to her. If it hadn’t been for the cute argument in the car and the utterly yummilicious fantasy kisses at the end, this episode might have gotten a 5 or 6 from me.
