i agree, very upsetting. i'm glad i kept my tapes, but they're in bad shape. oh man, lady in the iron mask...i won't even watch that one anymore. the whole episode feels off w/ the new music. it's a shame because it's one of my favorites.
They never aired it on tv here with the original music. I saw the episode in Italy a couple of years ago and they kept it in. Eventhough I didn't understand a word David and Maddie were saying, I laughed my ass off with that music! Too bad they left it out on the DVD.... Including those missing scenes that were named in this thread... I've never seen those scenes!!
The first and best Moonlighting Community on LiveJournal!
TVShowsOnDVD.com: in its Moonlighting reviews, it is mentioned that a few episode run times seem kind of short: 42 minutes etc. When I read this I figured something had to have been not retained, running time for an 80s show should be something like 48-49 minutes. I wondered what was chopped from the DVD. I don't understand why that stuff wasn't cleaned up and included on the DVDs.
However, I think these DVDs for the most part are produced pretty well. Lots of TV shows set aren't done nearly as well. Geez lots of great shows aren't even available on DVD. We're kind of lucky that ML is available for us to enjoy. I will state that I am pleased with the music on the DVDs. Lots of DVD producers, Anchor Bay cough cough, take the low road with the music, replacing it with cheap generic crap.
What's the deal with Lady With the Iron Mask? I thought all the episodes retained the original music.
Here's what I've got that isn't on the DVDs. Still working on converting them:
