Well...I don't! It really doesn't fit with the sence. Could be "Let's Get It On" That was really perfect. "Be My Baby" song crashed me over

I thought the song was perfect for the scene and perfect for D/M - especially the opening notes when David blocks that third slap. Maddie was going to slap him forever if he didn't!

I just think Be my baby is the perfect song for them. Especially this part: "Oh, since the day I saw you I have been waiting for you You know I will adore you Till eternity" We just knew they were perfect couple since the day they met. And they also knew it. And I got to tell you, I love this song, I mean I have always loved it really, truly, nothing personal.

You are so right Turbo, this song, especially those lyrics, are spot-on. And I love the Motown, 60s girl group music, in such stark contrast to the mello Sinatra that Maddie and Sam "got horizonty" with

It's funny you should mention Sinatra, honey. This morning as I was driving, I was listening to my Moonlighting Season 3 CD. When "All the Way" came on, I just kept thinking how amazing the selection of music was in this entire series in that it was so on the mark. The fact that this is Sam's favorite song reveals a great deal about his personality without having to say a word - Sam being safe and traditional Such a contrast to David's love of R&B and his often reckless ways.

Yeah I just watched that episode, & thought that scene wouldn't of been so great if it weren't for the song, not just the lyrics, the melody, the whole feeling of it .. Man, I'm getting more & more into Moonlighting everyday, I wonder what my buds would say if they knew lol ..

They'd say, "Lend me your all your Moonlighting discs!"
LOL I've been watching it during my breaks from all this dry coursework because I need some serious laughs. Bruce should really do more comic work! He had such a talent for it.

I will never ever ever forget hear those first three drumbeats when this episode first aired. We knew It was coming...TV Guide told us! "No more between the lines. Tonight's between the sheets."
But the minutes ticked away, with David and Maddie arguing, and Maddie spending time with everyone BUT David, and then terrible, horrible fighting that made it seemed like we had been duped by the promo department.
When he caught her arm and stared her down while those first almost-primal beats were hit...it was as if Glenn Gordon Caron himself was telling us all to buckle up. The music starts abruptly and strongly, just as the mood of the scene changes abruptly and strongly.
I think it was a perfect choice because it was so different from any other music associated with love scenes. Usually, the songs playing while two characters finally make love is either soft and trinkly or some kind of voilin-heavy music that swells at just the right moment. But Caron's choice of a totally different kind of music totally fit with a love scene that was in no way typical and for a couple that was anything but conventional. The feeling of the scene was passionate and primal, and Be My Baby fit perfectly!

PS: Someone must have liked Phil Spector -- they used his stuff in both Christmas eps, too...

As the clock ticked, I grew more and more worried that it wasn't gonna happen, or that it would be an anticlimactic FTB, but then there were the slaps, the drums and it was on. The music was perfection. Strong and raw musically, but the lyrics reveal another, more vulnerable side to the story. I will always associate this song with David and Maddie, as do so many fans, and I bet Bruce and Cybill do too.

I will never ever ever forget hear those first three drumbeats when this episode first aired. Yeah, I feel just the same way I was only 8 when I watched the scene for th e first time in my life and I was madly in love with the show, but my mom made it sooo difficult for me....She used to switch off the TV set in the middle of the episode usually saying "It's time to go to bed, young lady " or "this show is not for a little girl!" God, she broke my heart and made me to love them even more! And when this episode aired I was so excited, so nervous....and I waited and asked myself "When, when will it happen???" And when I heard those first three drumbeats .... wow! It was like all my dreams came true! Till the moment my mom switched off the Tv set.... (of course!) She didn't allow me to watch the scene! But I remembered the song for the rest of my life and every time I heard those first three drumbeats of the song the images of Maddie and David came to my mind! It will always be that way, this song is about them
