In the Episode Titled "Womb with a View" we see Bruce dressed up as a baby.
I was thinking so does that mean that David & Maddie sadly lost a baby boy?

Unfortunately, I think it does. Such a sad episode, but it's one of my favorites. I think Bruce was very good in it. I'm looking forward to Over the Hedge...is that the new one coming out? He's good at voiceovers.

Very sad episode, but one of my faves too (hence the name obviously!). NZ telly is showing Look Who's Talking this weekend so I'm going to watch and hear Bruce doing his voiceover thing there too! My TV magazine says "Bruce Willis is great as the voice of the baby" - yeah he's a natural at that cute-baby-charm thing!

OK so I watched this and noticed a few things. Firstly, we have Bruce Willis doing the voice of the baby who we see, quite regularly, in his mother's womb. Then we meet the mum - Kirstie Alley - who discovers she is pregnant. After falling asleep, her dream sequence shows her hanging off the hands of a large clock on the side of a building, precariously dangling above the busy streets below. Hmmm. Then the next thing we learn about the mum is she is looking for a responsible, mature adult who can be a good father. So she goes on dates with boring, middle-aged men who bore her to tears. Ok, this is sounding very familiar. And to add to this, the cheeky, seemingly less responsible man who she sees every day, is the one she actually wants to be with but takes ages to realise it. A couple of dream sequences thrown into the mix made this a very entertaining film. Does anyone know if Look Who's Talking was actually influenced by Moonlighting, or am I doing my usual thing of just seeing Moonlighting in everything purely because I want to?! ;D

I know I´ve seen "Look Who´s Talking, but have no recollection of any of the scenes at all.. Sorry. What I really wanted to ask you was if you understood right away that it was David´s baby? I watched A Womb With A View for the first time about a year ago (at age 23) and I still thought that it was Sam´s baby, who just happened to look a lot like David.. And some of my friends say that I´m one of the brightest people they know.

I always think the same thing when I see her hanging from the clock. LOL Babyhayes, it's good to know we're not alone.

I'm one of these people that got hooked on Moonlighting based mainly on what I saw of Season 4 & 5 (yes I know, I know!!) So I hadn't actually seen the crucial scenes of Season 3 to have an opinion I guess. I do remember thinking though, that at the moment Jerome turned the page and showed who the father was I thought 'Well of course it's David's baby, the writers wouldn't have made it anyone else's would they? That's not what the fans want!" And thanks Bluemooner, sometimes I feel I'm going a little mad but if there's other people in the asylum with me then that's great!

haha Babyhayes, it's great great.
Wow, seasons 4 and 5, huh? When I first saw this episode (womb), I was 11. The whole previous year had been spent arguing w/ my friend as to who the father was. I would not accept that it was Sam's baby. My best friend knew how to get to me, so she would purposely say, "it's Sam's"---all the time. When Womb aired, I finally thought, "yay, it's David's." But, the next day on the bus, she was still like, "no, it's Sam's." To this day, she'll still tease me about it and A---e! Ahh, good times. I don't know, I believe David was the father.

I just read an interview with Glenn saying that he was really proud of baby Hayes. He said that it was a clever way to show that it was Davids. I figured the family album wasn´t biological but stood for who would raise him... maybe a bit to modern for the 80´s. But now we know the "truth" (it´s tv, remember ) I thought I was stupid, but now I say that he was just too smart.

Interesting to see how no one ever discusses names for the kid. Maybe a sign from the fates that he was never really permanently "here."
I will always resent the fact that they brought the baby into the plot only to take it away. I know why they did it, to create that four-month break that was necessary for the cast, but they could have written some other device into the plot. For instance, they could've sent Maddie to Chicago because something happened to her parents, because she was on a secret mission for the C.I.A.--I don't know, anything would have been less depressing than what we got. However, as soon as they initiated the idea that they went with, several episodes branched off from it, and I guess we were doomed.

I will always resent the fact that they brought the baby into the plot only to take it away. Amen, sister! That made me just plain mad! I remember, even at that time, being REALLY unhappy about the pregnancy, getting used to the idea, only to have the carpet jerked out from under me/us in the most cruel way possible. I've recently started to wonder in fact if "the Creator" (referred to in "Womb With a View") taking the baby away from D and M wasn't a subtle FU from the man who wrote the episode, his last before he was forced to leave the series, I might add. You may recall he was credited thereafter, not as "Executive Producer," but only "Creator."... But I guess THAT is for season 5 discussions.

I think he sabotaged it, in more ways than one.

I remember at the time reading in the local UK press that this was going to happen (that she was going to lose the baby) and i just couldn`t believe that the writers would do such a cruel thing like that, but they did and i will never forgive them for doing that. Even if their excuse was to say that bringing a baby into the show wouldn`t have worked then why even make Maddie pregnant in the first place!!!. I always shed a silent tear when ever i watch that end scene of David at Maddies bedside just after she has miscarried
