I have gone back to Nelson DeMille lately. I have already read "Gold Coast" and it's sequel "The Gate House". Both are very good. The last week or so I finished "Wild Fire" and incidentally, I was reading DeMille's acknowledgments at the end and he mentions how Bruce called him one day to tell him he liked his writing. Which is weird, because the whole time I was reading I thought he would make the perfect person to play the part of the main character John Corey if it were to become a movie. Anyway, so far I have found DeMille's books very enjoyable and for the most part they are "page turners"!! Give Nelson DeMille a try sometime! Happy reading!

During our rewatching discussion of "Blonde on Blonde" diane mentioned the book "Fear of Flying" by Erica Jong. Being as I love getting "insider" info on ML episodes and what influenced the writers, I started reading the book. It is fascinating how the main characters parallel the Sam arc! And it's fun to make the comparison! I will say, though, that this book may not be for everyone as it is sexually explicit at times, so if you are offended by such a thing, this book will not be for you! Happy reading!

This must have been required reading for the ML staff! Even the phrase"womb with a view" was used. Maddie is not quite as "confused" as Isadora, but there are a ton of similarities!

Just finished "The Help" by Kathryn Stockett.
Started Jen Lancaster's "Bright Lights, Big Ass". This is her second book and she has a new one that was released this week. Her first, "Bitter Is The New Black", is also hilarious, but touching. Love the way she writes. (recommended to me by jpen, btw!)
Can't wait for Nelson Demille's new book on June 8th!

Months ago I finished a novel called "Swimming" by Joanna Hershon. It's about a young woman searching for answers regarding her older brother's disappearance. Not many books have impacted me the way this one did. I purchased it at one used book store and located it at another, so try that if there's one nearby.

Reading "Eat, Pray, Love" by Elizabeth Gilbert before the movie comes out.
I didn't think I wanted to read a book like this because from what I had heard it was a little depressing, but so far it has been great! Gilbert has a way with words that can make the reader feel as though they are traveling along with her. She should be praised for her bravery and for her search for happiness.
....I've added Italy to my "Bucket List"!

I haven't been feeling well, so I'm revisiting some childhood faves, which always cheer me up. (Is that dumb?) The Trixie Belden series at the moment... I'm also reading a mystery set in the '30s called "Black Moonlight," part of a newish series by Amy Patricia Mead -- she's a FB friend of mine, and SUPER-nice and funny. Oh, and AddisonHayes, I LOVE Agatha too!

I love thrillers about serial killers, but I like the "classics" too - I read every Hercule Poirot novel! I love Stephen King - his writing totally gets me! Been reading his novels since 20 years!
Also read the entire "Harry Potter" series.
Oh, and today I finally got my copy of Cybill's book, yay! Will be back to tell about it when I finished it!
