My favourite role in the movie was Jacy (she was selfish I know and Sonny. And I also like "Annie Hall". It's a classic! Diane was great as Annie Hall. And I just love "Gone With The Wind"! Katie Scarlett O'Hara Hamilton Kennedy Butler...I love it

I like a romantic movie that I saw when I was 10 years old. It was a 1984 movie, but it appears on the TV again. The movie's name is "Splash" It's about a story of a little boy, that jumps on the sea,and saw a mermaid. But then, time passes, and he jumps again on the sea,but the mermaid saves him again. It's a wonderful movie, with Daryl Hannah. I also have the DVD. Great great movie.

Just got the DVD of Eraserhead. Glad I don't have to wait to see it in a museum.

Love your list Gem. How could I forget 2 of my all time favourites - The Philadelphia Story and Gone With the Wind. I know some of mine are from the last 20 years but I think they are modern day classics. One other one I left off my list (and it was directed by Stanley Donen who did the dance sequence in Big Man) and that's Charade. Love Audrey Hepburn and quite frankly did Cary Grant ever make a bad movie?

That's the only one I know of. I adore The Philadelphia Story - Kate and Cary are so great together. There's one ML ep actually, when Maddie is flicking through tv channels at the start and one of the channels is showing it. I've not seen Charade, but I really like Audrey Hepburn too, so I shall have a look for it. Love Gem

Actually I have heard of Sylvia Scarlett. Is that the one that got Katharine Hepburn labelled 'box-office poison'?
It was really a facetious comment about Cary - The Howards of Virginia and Under Capricorn were 2 other less than stellar movies of his. You must try and get hold of Charade. I think you would really love it. It was the second last movie Cary Grant ever made. It was re-made a few years ago as The Trouble with Charlie (I think). Anyway it had Thandie Newton in it and I can't remember the bloke. It was not a patch on Cary and Audrey!

Yes, it was a little bit after this when she was labeled Box Office Poison - more about the time of Bringing up Baby. I shall see if I can downloade Charade. Love Gem

I'll watch almost any old mystery movie, like The Thin Man, or musical/comedy things like Something to Sing About. Funny thing, I hate musicals today.
