Inspired by your thread, Veronica. What other shows do people consider to be 'classic TV'?
My classics would be:
Blackadder M*A*S*H* Frasier Fawlty Towers Porridge Night Court
Seachange (brilliant Aussie series with some serious chemistry between the leads IMHO) Law and Order (esp. eps. with Jerry Orbach) Inspector Morse Minder (with Denis Waterman) Eurovision Song Contest (with Terry Wogan commentating!)

Thinking back to the 80's my friends & I were all really into Miami Vice. Not only were the 2 main actors very sexy ( I prefered Don Johnson) but you had a great location & some good music in the show aswell.
I also enjoyed Cheers & the banter between Sam & Rebecca although it wasn't a patch on the chemistry between David & Maddie.
Also on the same theme I liked Who's the Boss as I fancied Tony Danza & wanted his character Tony to get together with Angela.

Quantum Leap The Guardian (I am anxiously waiting for a dvd but losing hope too ) Frasier Seinfield Two Guys and a Girl The Visitors Twilight Zone Cheers Maybe not all of them are classic but they are my favs, for sure.

I remember Dempsey and Makepeace - thought it was heavily influenced by ML but was well done anyway. Didn't the couple (Glenys Barber or something like that and Michael whose last name escapes me) get married in real life?

Just checked on IMDb and D & M was made at the same time as ML so I guess they influenced each other! The actors Michael Brandon and Glynnis Barber did marry in real life so a happy ending for one detective couple at least!!!

Yes, funkycat, I agree the scenario, the characters... it was literally shouting Moonlighting...
I didn't know that they got married! Wow! Great news. They sure had that undeniable chemistry too. Imagine Bruce and Cybill getting married... that would have been awesome or not!?. lol.

This will make me seem old, BUT, they were already classics when I watched them as a kid:
I Love Lucy Dick Van Dyke Show I Dream of Jeannie Leave it to Beaver That Girl Flying Nun
Can't think of another show from the 80's--ML days that is still around sometimes except maybe Growing Pains, ER, Happy Days and Miami Vice.
