Hi Anne! Irish beer and St Patricks day? Do you have Irish relatives or you just like the country? Reminds me of South Africa. I really like the country. And on my day off on Tuesday I drove almost 200 km just to go to a store with a special South Africa week where I could buy food and drinks from there.
I have to work tonight, I hope its quiet b/c I am really tired. I would prefer watching some more ML. When do you find out about the recruitment? MLbest

I have to work tonight, I hope its quiet b/c I am really tired. I would prefer watching some more ML. When do you find out about the recruitment? MLbest Hello , to answer your questions, I first went to Ireland 7 years ago with friends from university , we did a trip in the South of Ireland and I fell in love with this country at once! Then four years ago, I decided to go and live in Belfast for a year to improve my English and also to find out about Northern Ireland that I didn't know yet! So I went there and I worked in a Grammar School as a French assistant and I must admit that I had the best year of my life over there !!! First, I met very nice people from different countries (Spain, Germany, Peru, Quebec, France,South Africa) who were assistants as well , and of course Irish people who were so welcoming , warm and talkative Actually, in the North, they are as nice as Irish in the South!! So, I rapidly made a lot of friends and we were partying every weekend, it was so great, like being on holidays for a year, I travelled a lot, doing trips in the North as well as in the South, making new friends each time! And unfortunately, I had to go back to Paris to finish my studies So yes I love the country , I have friends there (Irish and from other nationalities) and I go back there every summer to spend my holidays!! That's why , I always recommend people to go to the North as well and not only in the South, because the landscape is so wild , with so many different landscapes such as seaside, coutryside, mountains, cliffs and lovely cities with so many historical facts to learn about and the troubles between both communities(Catholics and Protestants) are quite far now ! There are still some tensions but nothing that serious compared to what was happening back in the 70's, 80's and early 90's! And since then, whenever I can , I go out for a pint on St Patrick's Day ;D Concerning , the recruitment examination(to become an English teacher in secondary school for I am already an English teacher in primary school), I've just finished sitting for the written part and the results will be in June so if I pass the written part I will sit for the oral exam which is very difficult! So we'll see... Well, thanks for you message and if you want to know more about Ireland or France , I'd be glad to give you information , and by the way,I'd like to go to South Africa, some day so perhaps you could tell me more about this country? cheerio, Anne

Hey, Tina. Have you ever been to South Africa? I am just interested in why you love it so much. I was born there and lived there until 9 years ago, when I moved to New Zealand. Sunny Durban is where I come from. Yes, it is a really beautiful country but every country has its strengths. But if you want to know anything about it, feel free to ask.

Hi bluevelvet,
yes, I have been to South Africa. I went there for the first time in 2000 and stayed for 4 months b/c I was doing a practical training. But after 6 weeks I got my certificate and as we ( a friend from university and me) had bought a car we had the possibility to travel around a lot (around 15000km) so I saw most of the country. I love the landscape and the hospitality, the wild animals and braai!!! I went back in 2001 and will finally be back this summer for 2.5 weeks. I met a lot of great people there. I know that the country has a lot of problems with HIV and racism and of course criminality but it is just so beautiful. It sure would be difficult to live there but its perfect for a great vacation. Do you miss it sometimes? Some of the friends from there also left the country since 2000 to the UK and one to New Zealand too. Tina.
