Honeyblondenoggin wrote: Maddie's character has changed so much, she just isn't the "lady" she was before. She seems less refined, less dignified. The whole thing with the microphone, she is too over-the-top. The slapstick/physical comedy in earlier episodes had more of an innocent feel, like she got into those situations by accident and didn't know how to react, and that was funny. This season, she *tries* too hard to be funny, SHE shouldn't be making Stooges noises, stuff like that. Maybe without GCC's influence, Cybill forgot how to be Maddie? Because (not that I watched a ton of this show, but enough to compare), season 5 Maddie reminds me much more of Cybill from the Cybill show that Maddie Hayes. Anyone else notice this?[/quote] I very much noticed this and like to think that David taught Maddie that it is "alright to run barefoot once in a while". Maybe she was tired of The Maddie Bashers!! Not that you are bashing honeyblonde........I enjoy your posts! She is a funny lady though, and I think they were just trying to have more fun with the last season.......as the ship sank.

Gave it a 9 just cause Maddie is not the same anymore, what the hell! the real maddie is angry 90% of the time, shouting, slamming doors, yelling at David, calling him names, this Maddie is just so lifeless compared to the Maddie we used to know, it's really sad, I think Cybill did a horrible job in this season, Bruce is still as good

Maddie is sending to many mixed messages in this one.

I liked it. The tone was definitely different. I felt like I was watching HBO's Tales from the Crypt at first. But it was a nice change, and it ended up working with the overall Moonlighting formula. I liked David's interaction with the secretary.

I'm finding less and less to say as I'm rewatching these. It's just becoming blah at this point. Honeblondenoggin I agree with everything you said above. That about sums up my feelings exactly. A couple positives I do like that Maddie compliments David's looks and his compliment to her as well. I have always liked the almost kiss at the end and the way the camera kind of pans around. Maddie should have went for it here. Ever since the end of season 4 I think she should have been the one pursuing David. And hard!
