I have only traveled to NYC once in my lifetime and it was just this past September. I wish I could have seen the Towers standing, but we walked around the site where they once stood. My husband had seen the site before, but not the Towers. We watched the Towers fall that day on TV, me with a classroom full of high school students and my husband at his office. It was unbelivable to watch, but that day we stood at the site together and I was totally rocked!! I was not prepared for what I felt at all.
I agree with what Gray and Diane have said, those who lost their lives and those who lost them trying to save others should never forgotten.

Jen, I checked the script for Maddie's speech in the hotel room. It is written exactly as filmed except for 2 little things. When David opens the door to the hotel room and sees Maddie, she says: "Don't look at me like that. I paid a guy twently bucks to get into this room...". The stage directions then say:
DAVID just stares at her...not responding to her joke...and...MADDIE...still can't bring herself to look at him...the silence eating at her...and finally...
Then Maddie goes into her speech about "I know you're wondering what I'm doing here..."
The other slight difference - before Maddie says "I feel like an ass", she says, "I sound like an ass". Otherwise, the entire scene is word for word.

Another tidbit from the script. The scene with David in the taxi contains the actual Russian dialog of the driver. Translated, he is saying - Excuse me, I don't have the slightest idea what you are talking about.

Absolutely agree...it was interesting, when I was watching the commentary (with Jay Daniel), he paused after pointing out the Towers (I believe this was the only location shot used in the episode). It was a good reminder that, as fun as being "essed" is, there's real stuff--and real people--out there who deserve our attention, recognition, and remembrance.

That would have been funny too!! ;D

3. In the argument in her office, David and Maddie have the following exchange: David: The fact that the way I choose to be differs from the way you choose to be does not give you any right to get on your morally superior high horse! Maddie: Well, that’s kinda nice for the irresponsible team, isn’t it? You count on the rest of us to cover for you, so you’ll be free to do whatever you please! Do you think we are supposed to agree with one character or the other? Do their positions alter during the course of the episode? Well i think in alot of the ML episodes they wanted you to kinda chose who was right and who was wrong in them. They usually both were right and wrong though LOL Here Maddies was right to go off on David because he had a job to do and obviously didnt do it, I'm not saying David isnt allowed to go out and drink ALOT but i think he should do it when he isnt expected to work the next day LOL Maddie seems to always pick on David more than she tells him he's doing a great job . So here Maddies is telling him he's irresponsible and cant be counted on, etc, etc, etc then comes the BIG storyline! She sees David in a different light. She sees he can be a responsible person. She feels bad and thats why she flys to NY to see him and well yeah she was JEALOUS of the EX too LOL **Oh and you guys are just too funny!

6. David leaves his buddies to call Maddie, to check in with her. What does his one-sided “conversation” tell us?
I love this scene. This scene is small and well only David is in it but WOW it really shows us how much David cares about Maddie and her well being. I also could watch it over and over., i loved the way Bruce said the lines over the phone, he showed such feeling in his vioce that you know Maddie is more to him than just his business partner. SIGH! LOL
9. David’s telling Maddie about Tess is a big deal. Why do you think that he couldn’t tell Maddie the whole truth?
Well he's a Man and he got his pride i guess,if thats the right word. No one wants to be left so that alone hurt David but the fact of it being for another woman is a blow to him as a man and he feels Maddie doesnt need to know that. Maybe he's embarrassed about that so he tells he what he thinks is enough.

You know, I haven't read a ton of fan fiction, but enough to know the good from the bad. (Typical critic...because I sure as hell can't write it, but I can critique it).
Jpen absolutely creates the exact same atmosphere that I get in watching the series. I feel that I am transported back over 20 years without ANY distortion. The way she describes the scene, the characters, the dialog, their mannerisms.......it just doesn't get any better than this. Damp and disordered....perfect.
Bravo, lady, bravo.
