Also--anybody got an explanation for the "I asked her--she said no" nugget? Or is that spoiling the surprise? Nope, that will definitely not be revealed. I think that is the first question I am going to ask St. Peter when I get to the pearly gates......when the hell did David ask her? ?

Tidbits I grabbed on this viewing: On the plane: Didn't it seem odd that Mr. Hayes didn't fly first class? He was back in steerage like I have to fly! And they put a movie on a LA to Denver flight? Heck, that is a little over 2 hours in the air...not enough time to do the take off, landing and beverage service plus a movie. In the car with Maddie and Virginia: Didn't that look suspiciously like the Bimmer interior? And how about the rear projection being used versus their normal practice of putting the car on a trailer and getting actual outside footage. LOL!! I noticed the movie business on the plane too! But, somehow, I knew Gray would say something about the car scene!! It looks like they are squeezed inside, like they are trying to hide the fact that the budget for that episode did not allow for a car for Mrs. Hayes, so they stuck them in the Bimmer and used really close shots!!!

He was committed to Maddie, I think, since IAC.....M. He was happier than he had ever been when he was with her. Yes Bees, that's why he is bustin' his a** to get to her...he can't stand to be apart from her, not to sleep next to her...not to be able to touch her and smell her hair. Only he hears the message from Maddie thanking him for not coming and that she loves him... OMG, when he goes over to the machine, rewinds it and plays the part when she says "I Love You David" It melted him in every way...I just remember when this episode originally aired and every time I've watched at home me saying..."Don't check the messages, please don't check the messages".

I don't think anyone's mentioned this yet – did any of you wonder why David never told Mr. Hayes about being dragged off to prison? I realize it was a ridiculous plot, and Mr Hayes probably would have figured that he was just making it up... Hmm. Good point. Never thought of that. Boy, I can't really recall any other references to the entire prison deal in any other shows. Might have to watch again to see! If you listen carefully, when David goes into his office after his return, he looks at himself in the mirror nd mutters something about prison, and furniture......but it really doesn't figure into anything. I think CHD 1 and 2 are fun, but so ridiculous, I am glad they don't figure in future eps.

There is one line near the end of the episode that strikes me every time. It's when David says to Agnes, "This place doesn't have to end, not if we don't want it to", to which Agnes responds, "I don't want it to, Mr. Addison". "Me neither". It always makes me think of the show in general. Camelot feels like a reference to the first 3 seasons, while season 4 was a challenge due to Cybill's absence for the greater part of the year and the escalating friction on the set.

You are of wise virtue Queen Lin! I definitely picked that up, the optimism...the reference to the shows fight for survival.

4. Bert and Agnes play small but pivotal roles in this episode. How would you describe their roles in the Blue Moon family?
Agnes......our girl...the perfect combination of Jiminy Cricket and Pollyanna rolled into one. Has Agnes ever been wrong? She is quirky and wonderful, and cuts to the heart of any issue. She is loyal and loving...she is one of my most memorable characters ever!
Bert is a joy...and what a perfect foil for Agnes. I adore his hero worship for david.....yet he can also see when David is wrong, and can call him on it. And his smile can light up a room.....(it doesn't hurt that Curtis Armstrong is one of the nicest people I have ever met, either!) I would be happy to add Bert to my flock of pesky little brothers.

One more reference to prison - David mentions it to the accountant when explaining how he misplaced a check.

One more reference to prison - David mentions it to the accountant when explaining how he misplaced a check. My point exactly (made in a previous post)...even the accountant asks David is he "gonna take this seriously". David's outward personality to all is he's a joker but they all feel is a good guy. The account obviously thinks it's absurd for it to be possible that David was actually detained. It's like the boy who cried wolf where David is concerned.

5. In a previous episode, Mrs. Hayes described Maddie as her father's daughter. What in the way that Mr. Hayes handled this situation reminded you of Maddie?
I don't think Mr. Hayes could have been more Maddie-like had he worn a pastel silk dress. He was not fooled at all by David's show of bravado in the office, and his sharp and cutting answers were typical Hayes.
In the restaurant, he had a clear cut agenda, and assumed that David would of course, see it exactly his way. After the interruption with Rita, and David's wavering.....boom, he lost his temper, flew off the handle and was outta there! It's just a shame we didn't get to see him slam a door!
In the airport and in the plane, he tried to retreat...and wouldn't listen until David had backed him into the corner. Once David made himself heard, Mr. Hayes became sympathetic and fair. He also used his honesty and intelligence to bring David around to seeing his point of view.
Sounds very Maddie like to me.

I caught this to, but took it to mean that Agnes and David did not want Blue Moon to end as well as David and Maddie.

Too bad King Glenn wasn't spending enough time tending to his kingdom, but was off making movies in the Holly-Wood!

I wanted to mention the use of "David's Theme" in the scene on the plane before Mr. Hayes approaches David to apologize. As the scene opens, David is sitting there staring into space with pain etched all over his face. The haunting tune as a backdrop does so much to define David's mood. It makes me ache for David, much like loop of "Since I Fell" in BOB.

I am watching it again.........essed, I tell you, and I just noticed something. When Mr. Hayes and David are in the restaurant, Mr. Hayes says to him," I'm not blind and I am not stupid -- pronounced stew-pid........just like Maddie does to David when she tells him about his stew-pid lie in "Big Man" ROFL too funny Diane! You are so right! And what perfect casting for Maddies Dad, And her Mom too!
